Seriously, there is not too much difference between all the shavers. In my time of wetshaving I have owned most of the so called high-end razors (BBS1, WR1, WR2, Paradigm DE & SE, Raw, CG, Timeless, Rex, Blackbird, Rocnel, Barbaros, etc.) and I can get an equally good shave out of a Rockwell 6S or even a 30 EUR Muehle or Merkur. Don't be fooled by the belief that a "high-end" razor gives you a better shave than a more moderate priced one.

Just for reference, I used my .84 Gamechanger this morning and it gave me an absolute sublime shave. My WR2 couldn't do it any better.

I don’t have a game changer, but I do have a Charcoal Goods. The Charcoal Goods might be my favorite razor. If you’re basing your decision solely on the shave itself, it’s probably not worth the extra money. If you also enjoy the design and craftsmanship of the Charcoal Goods and will get enjoyment from having it displayed in your bathroom counter, it is worth the extra money.

I understand that point right there. Still, I went the other way round: At times I had razors worth of more than 3.500 $ sitting on my shelf - until I decided that the design and craftsmanship, and the joy of having them displayed was not worth the money, so I sold almost all I had Big Grin

I agree. There is a point where it’s not worth it. I’m at that point now. I had 7 razors and I just sold one so I can buy another one if I find one that I want to buy. 7 is my max limit and I’m thinking about going below that at some point since I really only use 3 of the 6 that I decided to keep.

Exactly....high end razors doesn’t mean a better shave. I can get a great shave with a bic disposable lol.

Gillette must be laughing because people spend more money on razors than on their cartridges. Buy one DE razor and then your saving money....the same personalities on YouTube who tell you DE razor blades are cheap are the same ones that have tons of razors that’s in total cost more than a mortgage payment. Lol.

There is nothing wrong with a high end razor if your looking for the type of materials used, craftsmanship and build quality. But in terms of a $500 razor shaving better than a $30 razor....I would debate that.

I didn’t even realize they released the OC version. Has anyone had a chance to compare the OC to the SB?

I would also be interested to hear more about the OC versions, but unfortunately, those who were lucky enough to get one, are very quiet about their experiences with them.

I have the Game Changer 84 and put it away, I did not like the shave or the feel, it's not smooth or efficient for me

As far as Jaws, I have used Jaws a half dozen times now and for myself, and for a razor that shows a lot of blade it is an excellent very smooth and efficient shaver for my daily use (I switched out the handle for a SS Stork Falcon 13 x 90). In comparison razors in my rotation are two Gillette Old-Style/Single Ring ball end which I switch out the handle for a stork aristocrat better feel, balance, control and shave I use a shim with this razor, a U.S Army Old Style which doesn't need a shim, (this razor has just the right amount of aggressiveness for me without a shim). a CG 3 DC, PAA Ascension SS with a shim, British Streamline Gem and a Gibbs 17. My blade of choice is Polsilver. I have been using the Smart Helix, the aggressive side with a Feather blade and it too is an excellent razor.

But, Jaws really surprised me, an inexpensive SS razor that is ever so smooth and efficient with excellent feedback is hard to find for blade feel lovers like myself.

One more observation the blade holding tolerance is incredible (at least on the razor that I have), there is absolutely no play with the blade in the head before you tighten the head down with the handle. I have to push down on the blade slightly for it to lock into place, and when I finish my shave and take the head apart to clean it takes a moment to release the blade from the bottom plate (the wetness of the blade adds to the tightness in how the blade is held in place during the shave). With other razors at times, the blade wetness will make the blade stick to the bottom plate a drop, with Jaws the blade is already locked into place so the wetness adds a slight degree of effort to remove the blade.
