So basically you have to buy the original GC AND the .084 which is nearly $100 together---I'll pass

I'm going to pass on this too. I sold my original GC due to it being too mild. Life moves on.
I'd have to disagree with this sentiment. I mean no disrespect to any of you Gents but, this is more bitching and moaning with a bit of sour grapes thrown in. And here's why....
1. Within 5-10 days of the original drop and release of the Gamechanger and the reviews started coming in, there were already mussings and a statement from Joe at IB that a more aggressive plate would be in the works once the original demand was met and the demand for the razor had subsided. Remember? "Production will continue until everyone who wants one gets their GC". That from Joe himself.
2. 316L Stainless Steel passivated then produced and machined via CNC to exacting tolerances and finished with a semi polish (tumbled) look. For the price of $50-$55. Damn Straight. Unheard of. Go ask Charcoal Goods, Timeless, Wolfman, Raw Shaving and a few others to offer you a quality made product with value pricing. Good luck. By the way, only one has stepped up to the plate trying to offer a value razor with a reputation for producing quality, Blackland. And yes, it's still $50 more.....
3. Were all Gents here. Well, I'd like to believe we all are even though some can be classified as other and I'll leave it at that.
You make your own decision(s), no one forces anyone to hang on or get rid of a razor or a particular shaving product. There's always a choice, yours. To make a proclamation or even insinuate that IB is practicing or even exhibiting bad business practices is a joke. If they decide that they want to show a bit of loyalty or good will to those that decided to hang on to their GC's, good for them and so be it. Granted, the use of notification and announcements on product releases is a bit off and needs to be addressed but, they've also stated that it's best to follow them on social media sites to stay current and up to date. Again, your choice if you want to follow or not. Information is available on a continuous basis on these shave forums or social media sites. News travels fast and furious all over the web. The individual is responsible for their own due diligence.
4. If this was one of the higher end artisan producers that decided to do something like this, let's face it you wouldn't say a peep. Why? Because of exclusivity and we dare not second guess an artisan that charges in the $$$ hundreds for making you wait weeks, months and even years to acquire their product. Yet, you wait held over a barrel then wax poetic when it's in your hands bestowing it's virtues as the greatest thing ever invented since toilet paper. Come on, let's be real here.....
In essence, put your big boy pants on and just man up. Make your decision and live with it. As
86_foxtrot put it, life moves on. No need to put the blame elsewhere when it's all on the individual.....
