Hardly, but if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Simple. Nobody is cheating you, misleading you, or forcing you. If it’s not your cup of tea, fine. If you want a well made razor that is always in stock, there are several fine choices out there, and I’m sure they will gladly accept your money.

Man, your really off the rails on this one. To much of that "high price means it's better exclusivity, so it's justified" Kool-Aid.

I'm not going to get in a back and forth debate and trying to rip each others points, values and opinions. I stand by what I said and my post speaks for itself.

But, someone get this man some real Dark Roast or better yet some NFL quality Smelling Salts. Concussion protocol is a mute point. This one here is going on Full Boil..... Comatose state is a distinct possibility.

One thing is a single "artisan" like Wolfman, another thing is a company like RazoRock. Look at Timeless, have you ever seen those razors being "out of stock"? THEY need to man up, not the customer! To me this is just frustrating and alienating potential customers.
Come on comparing timeless to GC is apples and oranges !!

Timeless would sell less razors at the price point they are at then the game changer and that is a reason for timeless to be well stocked. Timeless razors are a piece of art - hand crafted and hand polished individually and they have a price tag. Not everyone who buys a GC can buy a timeless as well.

I read a few posts above that a $100 two plate GC also seemed expensive and the timeless sells a single plate for kuch above that price !

Plus design would mean bigger complex machines and hence the sale price. RR makes GC for the masses and he can easily sell the razors at $75 and they would be still out of stock.

Another razor I know goes out for stock a lot is the Karve brass razor.

I also notice that some variants of Blackbird razors also go out of stock once in a while. It's all about demand !

Who said I don't like it, I actually bought one and sold it just because it was too mild. The craftmanship is actually excellent for the price point.
All I'm saying is, they need to get their act together in terms of production, marketing, website design, etc. I'm not the only customer annoyed with the whole situation, I will still buy the 0.84 when available, but all this "chasing a razor game" is a frustrating business.

So basically you have to buy the original GC AND the .084 which is nearly $100 together---I'll pass

I'm going to pass on this too. I sold my original GC due to it being too mild. Life moves on.

I'd have to disagree with this sentiment. I mean no disrespect to any of you Gents but, this is more bitching and moaning with a bit of sour grapes thrown in. And here's why....

1. Within 5-10 days of the original drop and release of the Gamechanger and the reviews started coming in, there were already mussings and a statement from Joe at IB that a more aggressive plate would be in the works once the original demand was met and the demand for the razor had subsided. Remember? "Production will continue until everyone who wants one gets their GC". That from Joe himself.

2. 316L Stainless Steel passivated then produced and machined via CNC to exacting tolerances and finished with a semi polish (tumbled) look. For the price of $50-$55. Damn Straight. Unheard of. Go ask Charcoal Goods, Timeless, Wolfman, Raw Shaving and a few others to offer you a quality made product with value pricing. Good luck. By the way, only one has stepped up to the plate trying to offer a value razor with a reputation for producing quality, Blackland. And yes, it's still $50 more.....

3. Were all Gents here. Well, I'd like to believe we all are even though some can be classified as other and I'll leave it at that.
You make your own decision(s), no one forces anyone to hang on or get rid of a razor or a particular shaving product. There's always a choice, yours. To make a proclamation or even insinuate that IB is practicing or even exhibiting bad business practices is a joke. If they decide that they want to show a bit of loyalty or good will to those that decided to hang on to their GC's, good for them and so be it. Granted, the use of notification and announcements on product releases is a bit off and needs to be addressed but, they've also stated that it's best to follow them on social media sites to stay current and up to date. Again, your choice if you want to follow or not. Information is available on a continuous basis on these shave forums or social media sites. News travels fast and furious all over the web. The individual is responsible for their own due diligence.

4. If this was one of the higher end artisan producers that decided to do something like this, let's face it you wouldn't say a peep. Why? Because of exclusivity and we dare not second guess an artisan that charges in the $$$ hundreds for making you wait weeks, months and even years to acquire their product. Yet, you wait held over a barrel then wax poetic when it's in your hands bestowing it's virtues as the greatest thing ever invented since toilet paper. Come on, let's be real here.....

In essence, put your big boy pants on and just man up. Make your decision and live with it. As 86_foxtrot put it, life moves on. No need to put the blame elsewhere when it's all on the individual.....
Since you quoted my post I will respond. My point was that me personally I would not spend $100 for a gamechanger with 2 plates as I would rather spend my money elsewhere. I am also of the belief, and I have been wet-shaving since the 1980's that your statement of the artisans charging $$$ hundreds and koolaid thinking is false. I DO find that the more MODERN expensive razors shave me better than the rockwells, razorocks, etc...I think the shaves are better and I think the fit and finishes are better and that is why I said I would not spend $100 on a gamechanger. Rather spend more on higher end razors. YMMV

I wouldn’t spend $100 on a GC with 2 plates either, since the price is more like $80-85 ....

I'm willing to buy the more aggressive baseplate with top cap later (with or without handle) on if Joe makes that happen.

I respect everyone's opinion and all are entitled to express themselves respectfully. That's my belief anyway. Have a great day everyone!

Personally, I like to look for the “knee of the curve”, aka the “sweet spot”. Low on the curve, you can spend a little more to get a lot more. High on the curve, you can get a little more but it’s going to cost a lot more.

I don’t own a Fatip because for a little more I can buy one of several precision-made razors with zero blade-alignment issues. I don’t own a $$$ razor because while it might be a little better, it isn’t likely to be enough better in any way that matters to ME to justify the cost.

I do own a group-buy Rex because to ME, it did bring enough extra to the table to justify the price.

That is all very personal though. Many couldn’t be happier with a Fatip, and clearly enough are willing to pay $$$ for the low volume artisan razors. All chose what THEY valued most.
