Freddie's restoration & custom brush thread

I figured instead of creating a new thread for every resto I would just consolidate into 1 thread and add as I go. Less Hassel for the hard working mods to keep up with! I will also add some handles not previously shared.  

Finished this one this morning. Nice little Solid Set handle that can hold up to a 20mm knot. Currently no knot for this one but handle is available if anyone is interested. As shown it was originally red and black but I also took this one in a different direction and decided to lighten things up a bit with some Dover white. It's a softer, creamy white that I feel still pay homage to the classic handle colors we see.

When carelessness leads to heartache! Came downstairs to check on a couple projects only to find that my carelessness on one (not shave related), hurt another. I had my freshly restored Ever-Ready on my work bench letting the adhesive for the knot cure and while working on the other project, apparently had a different adhesive I was using drip down on the handle. It hit in such a way that it caught the lip of the base without harming the ferrule or the knot. Definitely took the wind out of sails.

As you can see, any attempt to safely remove the adhesive was met with disaster and ruined the coating. I managed to remove the knot and ferrule without damage and stepped away to a calming shave lol. Once done I immediately set to work on it. Got it stripped back down and over the next several days will start the resto on my resto. It will be brought back!

Yikes! Glad you calmed down with a sharp strip of steel! My money is on you bringing it back again!

Just finished up a nice little Ever-Ready. Cleaned up much better than I thought and definitely went from blah to a head turner! Verified and and though snug, will hold up to 20mm knot. Will be posting in BST for anyone who would like to purchase.
