Is there a non-artisan, mass market soap that you would consider to have a Fougere fragrance?

Clubman shave soap?

Hi, Tedolph. If you're willing to expand your definition of 'fougère', you may find that a few of the following non-artisan soaps may scratch your green itch. Each of these soaps or creams offers the notes that make up the classical fougère: citrus, lavender, and oakmoss, but they dress that trinity up in a variety of ways. I hope this helps.

Hard Pucks

No. 89 (Floris) – a citrus fougère with a touch of nutmeg
Elite (Floris) – a green, woody fougère that reminds me of Grey Flannel
Arlington (D. R. Harris) – a citrus fougère
Fougère (Martin de Candre) – a straight up elegant fougère

Creams

Jermyn Street (Taylor of Old Bond Street) – classic fougère
Mr Taylor (Taylor of Old Bond Street) – a lot like Jermyn Street

Wow, that is a great list. A few I am familiar with, e.g. Spearhead. Not sure that I would consider that mass market like Williams, Proraso, Arko, etc. TOBs, Barrister & Mann, MDC probably do. Some of them are difficult/expensive to find in the U.S.

Tedolph, if you point your browser to https://pasteurpharmacy.com, and search for the terms "fougère" and "fern", I'm sure you will find a wide variety of wonderfully green soaps, colognes, etc. Nearly all of the soaps I listed above are available there, along with many others, at a variety of price points. Have fun browsing. You're bound to find something that will suit your interests and your wallet.

Mousee Illuminée has a nice dose of artemisia in it. It reminds me of Polo green. Good for Saturday night.

Bon Monsieur is more about the lavender and moss. It's a bit quieter, and reminds of Le 3e Man. Good for Sunday morning.
