6X 4TB hitachi hdd, set for raid-z2 (raid 6, iirc)

Indeed.  I also run exclusively on Linux, simply because it makes it the easiest to jump from running on servers at work to a desktop at home.  The fact that it is free helps, too Tongue , of course, that makes it really hard on times like now, when I have broken my laptop and I have to work on my wife's computer... Confused

sys admin? I run linux on all of my web servers. the backup server I posted photos of above will run freenas, which runs on top of freebsd. for my personal computers, I run windows. I like the simplicity of running windows, to be honest. linux can be a PITA at times.

Heheh, I've been running Linux so long that I feel the same way about windows now. I currently am acting as a DBA for the group I'm working with, but have acted as a Linux admin in the past
