has anyone tried this razor? thoughts?

I might look into buying one to shave my head. I'm coming to the realization - I think - that my head just cannot tolerate 3 blade razors without getting razor bumps.

Good quality razor. It is recommended to use broken in half DE blades instead of the pre-cut type. Good shaving razor once you get the correct angle.

how should the razor be properly positioned against the face?

It has a floating head (spring) you need a steep angle if I remember correctly

I attempted to use this razor for my head shave Friday night. snapped a new astra sp blade in half, then I came to realize why people don't really care for this razor - I legitimately thought I was going to slice my hand open when trying to get the top cap to lock into the base plate.. it was a REALLY tight fit. when I finally got it to lock into place, I noticed that the entire blade was covering the lather slots. I found that to be weird and almost wondered why they'd even exist if the blade fully covered them. anyways, off to the shave, I got about 3 strokes in and put the razor down immediately and switched to a cartridge...

after my shave was done, I started messing with the razor again. I found a video on youtube where someone mentioned snipping/breaking the corners off of the blade where they curled up slightly when the blade was snapped in half. after doing this and putting the blade back into the top cap, it easily locked into the base plate and the lather slots were no longer fully covered by the blade.

I guess I'll give it another go the next time I shave my head, to see how it does.

this razor is awful. it is similar to a children's toy, but hair it shaves very not comfortably. I could not achieve with it BBS. I used different blades.

I'd like to try one.  Does anyone have one they would either loan me for a week, or sell to me for cheap, or both.  Please PM me if you do.  Thank you.

There are two things that I don't particularly like.
A moving head on a pivot, and a half blade DE.
In fact I don't think this type of razor is properly an SE.
I call them Shade: Single Edges that use Half DE blades.
And also because they don't shine for performance. Wink

I like SE razors, but I've read too many negative reviews about this one. Seems rather quirky.
