Thursday’s Shave
[Image: 2UVF2VL.jpeg]

Blackland Osprey Razor (Shark SC- 2nd use)
Gentleman’s Nod Sidama Soap
Fluffy Industries Hexagon Black Badger Brush
Sailor Jerry’s Spiced Navy AS

Second shave with the Osprey.  Did a 4 for the first pass. And a 2 for the ATG pass.  Super comfortable and easy shave.  Very good result. It’s all down hill from here. Hump day is done. And I only have 9 more work days left for 2024.  It seems to me that if I complained, about  anything. It would come off very poorly indeed. Hope you all are doing well.

Yea Dave. When you don’t have much of a life. You don’t need to take off much earlier in the year. So now I have “use or lose “ time to take.

My glorious European overlords that own the grocery chain I work in have the use or lose it thing, but all time must be requested by the 1st week of October, and there are other conditions, making it unlikely you can use it if you wait until October to put in for your remaining paid time off (PTO). A pharmacist I worked with 2 years ago hired a labor lawyer as the parent company that year denied all remaining PTO and he stood to lose 60 hours. There was no "courtesy" remainder that year. Sure we're adults and most have been around long enough to know this, but many either forgot or were newly hired and didn't know. My colleague and the company settled slightly in his favor. No one thought a thing of it that within a year he left to greener pastures.

My strategy, as the company pulled this once before since I've been here, is to request all my time off when the PTO scheduling for the next year starts. Yeah, it sucks trying to figure out weeks or days off for 2025 in October of 2024, but I've opted for scheduling something every 2-3 months. I had done like Ken and muscled through months on end (I still do for the June-August stretch, as most folks want time off in the summer and, being a delicate weed, I prefer air conditioning, so I take time at Christmas, Spring, and Fall. There, now you know all about how I do time off!

That’s a solid game plan Eric. Never give any time back. Stick it to “the Man”.

Some of us at new positions don't have an exorbitant amount available at the moment but we are capped at 25 hours that can be carried over with more if there are extra circumstances. So I'm jealous BUT Happy for you !!
