While much of what you report is beyond my understanding (no experience with straights), I still find it fascinating reading! You have a great way with words, mixing the humor with the facts, and producing an entertaining AND informative post. Well done! And right below the surface, one sees the skilled practitioner. I really like that!

Kind words Eric. I try to entertain as well as inform. Mostly just focus on not taking myself too seriously.
Hope your weekend is going well.

Friday's Shave
[Image: 09FAV4N.jpg]
Burrel Top Flight Razor
Fluffy Industries Brass Boar Edition
LNHC Barber Shoppe Soap
Skin Bracer AS

Good shave to end the work week. The touch up on the Top Flight was performed before I tackled Tim's Clauss razor.  The results of them (touch ups)  are much more predictable. And really only like 10-15 mins of time spent. The Top Flight rejoined it's companions in the cigar box, back in rotation.
Tim's Clauss after a revisit to the Translucent Arkansas stone is on deck for todays shave. I expect it will be up to par. But will let you guys know.

In other news Fluffy Industries Bread Division, has only 4 loaves of bread started today for baking tomorrow. This afternoon will be spent catching up on WSBK motorcycle racing. And trying out a new Muffin recipe. I have been using my modified Bisquick recipe for chocolate chip muffins. But want to find a bit more "moist" version. Using a basic all purpose flour batter. I'll let you guys know what I think of the new recipe.
Hope all of you are enjoying the weekend.

I had a rather tasty pumkin, raisin, chocolate chip muffin this morning, but from our local bakery, the Engine 5 Bakehouse. Wonderful local bakery and home of some vintage firefighting gear, as well as humorous signs.

Another reads, "I have been on my diet for 2 weeks and so far lost only 14 days!"

Hope the baking goes well for you!

The muffins turned out ok. The recipe gave me the option either using vegetable oil or butter. My choice was for butter. I’m not sure but I think that may have been the less ideal option. The “wet” and dry ingredients. Need to be thoroughly mixed separately before being combined.
I melted the butter but when added to the milk and eggs. It (butter) became solid again. And I am not sure it mixed well. And the texture of the muffins is a bit off. Next batch I  shall use the vegetable oil.

I have had that happen with bread maker dough, and now I nuke the milk a little to take the chill off.

But I have never done muffins. Those look tasty!

Clauss Razor
Fluffy Industries Copper Edition Brush
DG Trismegistus Soap
Tabac Man AS

Round two with the Clauss Razor vs. translucent Arkansas hone. This outing was a much better affair. The razor did much better this go round.
I put it at 90% of its full potential. Most folks would say it’s good enough. But not old Fluffy. That ten percent is the difference between a good shave and a great shave. And my buddy Tim deserves great shaves.

Sunday’s Shave

The deets.
Clauss Razor
B&M Nordost Soap
Yaqui Badger Brush
Master Barber Topaz Aftershave

I can now report that the Clauss razor is at the level of sharpness that I am happy with.
So it will be cleaned up and headed back home to Tim fairly soon.
It’s always enjoyable to take a razor from unusable. To the best I can make it be.
Hope you are all ready for the week.
