I know you can’t protect them forever. But 9 or 10. Damn. Don’t know how I would have responded to a letter like that. If my daughter had brought one home.

Yeah, it wasn’t a letter, my daughter delivered it verbally. I can still recall that minute or two of wheels turning in my head-what do those words mean?? Why would underwear not have backs?? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?? Doesn’t that make them...dang. Raising girls is different from boys. Most discussions with boys involved variations of “did you die”? Or “did you hit em back?”

It's cute when you're a kid, but I read somewhere that guys who dance without moving their feet are considered to be less attractive to women than guys who do move their feet.

It's the destruction of aquifers part, and leaving the landowners to deal with it when the gas company abandons it because the gas is gone.
Plus it's still a CO2 producer.

Can’t agree more with you John.  Energy is ugly and destructive, sprinkle in politics and you have no idea the magnitude of the monster (I’m sure you do know).

Regarding the “leaving the landowners to deal with it” statement, you realize that’s the local politicians spearheading the projects and their directive. We’re the hired help, I do feel you tho.  Specifically those moving parts you speak of is exactly my department, however, it’s the smart ppl that tell me how to think, it’s what they pay for.  I do believe we try our best to preserve the environment for future generations to enjoy.  But again, it’s the politicians, oh, and with them comes greed, should have led with that.....

My mom was a single parent for 6-7 years raising me and my 3 brothers. One evening when no doubt our horsing around/fighting with each other had her stressed to the limit. I'm sure other things were stressing her but we added to it I'm sure. My uncle came over to calm her down, talk with her and we must have been loud upstairs. Can't even remember what we were doing............being boys no doubt. He comes up and the door flies open and he says very calmly but with definite purpose. "Quiet! I don't care what your doing. I don't care if you kill each other. Do it QUIETLY." He then left, shutting the door. We were in shock and just looked at each other. Not sure what was going thru my brothers minds but pretty sure I was thinking how to kill them without any noise and if it was possible. Yeah, raising boys is different Big Grin

Got a package today. Containing two razors from a member on here and elsewhere. For the purpose of me to give them a little TLC and hone  em up for him.
I am looking forward to the opportunity. And appreciate the fact that he trusts me with them. Have gotten positive feedback in the past. And look forward to his thoughts of my efforts. Pictures to follow.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
