Just from what I've seen experienced straight razor shavers recommend, less is more. Recommending to do 80-100 laps might not be the best place to start, you are more likely to roll the edge or make the edge worst when you are just starting out. Most folks do 40-60 on leather, you maybe want to start with 20-30 and move up from there. A razor that has been honed properly and stropped on leather won't need much for the first few shaves in terms of maintaining the edge.

You keep saying 6 passes...you are definitely doing something wrong. I'm just starting out and a straight takes fewer passes compared to a DE in my opinion. What takes me 2 passes on a DE takes me 1 on a straight. Most people do 3 passes with maybe some touchup so 6 sounds excessive. Like people have mentioned, you probably need to get your razor honed or re-honed by a reputable honemeister, there are plenty in the USA. Good luck.

I have to do 6-8 with 11,14 r41 ikon tech. I can draw blood with my beard. My gf has took the back of her hand to my face and it will about cut skin. It's ruff.
