Which razor were you using? I’ve been using the regular Pros with my Mongoose razors (with great success), I need to try the Supers in them. It’s a blade that seems to be divisive — some swear by them, others, not so much.

The AlumiGoose is a great razor. Sounds like the Supers require the lightest touch. And sometimes even that won’t fully do the trick. Hopefully the blade will get better after the first shave. (I usually palm strop a new blade to give it a bit of a “head start”.)

SharpSpine just said in another thread that he’s had perhaps about one dud blade per pack of Feathers (15–20 blades per pack depending on model). Hopefully that isn’t the case with your Super. I’ll try to remember to return and share my experience with the Super, but that’s still several days out in my rotation.

I'll use it for 1-2 more shaves. I'm borrowing the alumigoose from another DFS user so it'll be going back sometime this week.

the blade definitely wasn't a dud - it cut through 5 days of growth without any issues.

Wow, five days of growth … yeah, I guess a dud wouldn’t have managed that without it being evident! Good luck with the continued shaves, I hope the Super will start to feel better.

I had one of the earlier SS Mongoose razors which I thought was too mild for my taste. The only semblance to a BBS I was able to get out of that darn Mongoose, before I parted ways with it, was utilizing the Feather Pro Supers. For me that little extra front to back blade width makes a huge positive impact on performance especially since I favor a more aggressively efficient shave. Fantastic blades and the only AC blade I would ever use if I decide to go back down that road again.

I recently got an ATT SE head and have been shaving with KAI blades. Today I was going to switch in a Feather Pro Light blade, but it does not fit the pegs on the ATT. The holes in this blade are a bit smaller than the holes on the KAI. So I switched in a Feather Pro and it fit fine. What's the deal with the Pro Light blade?

Someone else with more experience can provide a more comprehensive answer, I just know that the Light does not fit the Artist Club SE razors that are out at the moment. The Light was designed for a different apparatus, but I can’t remember what exactly.

I found the Feather super blades to be initially the harshest face feel to any of the other feathers or Kai blades I tried in my Mongoose SS. I don't know if the edge is a slightly different geometry to the others but I wouldn't worry because I never found them to last any longer or be any more effective than the regular Pro blades. The roughness went at about the 5th shave for me and as I said they lasted just shy of what I got from the Pro blade.
