I'm gonna take a guess and say Polsilver SI. That's what I seem to recall but probably wrong.

So the Feather is unforgiving of anything you might not have dialed in just right: lather, angle, pressure, technique. There are no "training wheels" or lane-bumpers on the Feather, if you will. But when you've got your lather and technique down, these beasts give a friendly purr, and the sharpness becomes a virtue, reducing resistance and tugging, reducing the need for extra passes, and thus leading (contrary to initial impression) to LESS irritation and fewer weepers.

I'm finding this to be very true the longer I use Feather blades. The better I get, the better they get. I prefer a two pass or a two pass and clean up on most days. With Feathers, I have much less stubble after 24 hrs than with most other blades. Now that I have them dialed in I also get much less irritation than with most other blades. That's a win-win in my book!

Feather = Love. Tied with my favorite other blade the Gillette Silver Blue. GSBs smoother, Feathers sharper, but I love both.

I love Feather Blades. I used to use them only in my Feather AS-D2 but last week I put one in the ikon SC #102 slant and its wonderful.

IMHO Feather blades both DE and the One Blade SE razor version are definitely the sharpest. But they are simply only good for one shave and then they compare with about any other blade out there and probably no better. Many DE blades are longer lasting and result in a few more shaves per blade.Others-- Not as sharp as Feathers for that one shave but sharper for more shaves if that is what you are after. Same for SE blades, Gem coated specifically. Feathers more expensive but for one shave the sharpest closest I can manage. Expensive comparatively--- yes. But, definitely not as expensive as cartridges. And if your not a close shave fanatic, like I guess I am, then Feather blades may not be for you. Arguing expense is simply nonsense. Kind of like arguing Chevy vs Cadillac vs Mercedes---on and on!!! Now razors and how they shave, using whatever blade of choice? That
is another kettle of fish!!! IF you don't mind the expense Feather blades are the sharpest and yield the closest possible shave---IMHO!!!

Love the DE and SE Feather blades. Use the DE in my vintage Gillette razors and my Weber razors. Generally, I rate the second shave with a Feather DE blade as delivering a smoother shave than the first. The King Cobra with Feather Professional blades have become a regular option in my rotation.

I really like Feather blades for a while. Then I noticed that I would get a slight burning sensation a couple of hours after shaving. I've started rotating in Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge (aka, yellows). YMMV and all that, but they seem to be on par with the sharpness and smoother too.

I read many of the comments here, and am surprised .

To me a Feather blade is just another blade. We are experienced users of DE blades.

I also find these blades not to last very long but with one exception. The only mild razor I own is the Feather AS D2 razor. In that razor, the Feather blades lasts up to six shaves. In fact, I was ready to sell that razor until I put a Feather blade in it.
