I am going to try and pick one for each of the SE blades that I use.

For the GEM, I will go with my Damaskeene.

For the AC-style, the Occam's Razor SE-noch

And for injector blades, the Schick Type I Hydro-magic.

vintage Schick L and I. They've mostly put to pasture every other non-Schick type razor I've owned (straights, DE, other SEs) and still own (Yaqi Slope).

I enjoy the lightweight feeling in hand and on the face, the extremely long lasting sharp blades - I'll get somewhere around 15-20 shaves out of a blade before it shows any slight signs of diminished performance. The simplicity mitigates the need to figure out plate/cap/blade combinations.

While not a deciding factor for me, they were gifted to me by another forum's member. They're plentiful and cheap.

Maybe naive question, but is it possible to use regular GEM blades with a Damaskeene razor?
Thanks in advance!

Yes you can. That is all I use with my Damaskeene.
Sometimes I use a half spine shim (a modern spine split in two halves and use one of the halves) taped to the blade on one lower side to equal to the thickness of the vintage GEM blade spine. This raises the blade angle a tiny amount that makes a difference in some vintage ASR razors (at least the ones that pre-date bumps that were added for the GEM double edge blades).

GoodShave is correct. I only use the Personna GEM PTFE blades. They have recently been rebranded, so do some digging in the forums to find the correct product. I will try to post it here if I can remember by tomorrow!
