I appreciate all kinds of scents, but for some reason I enjoy wet shaving with very "manly" scented soaps and creams.  For me it really adds to the experience.  I have ordered soaps in the past that I anticipated to smell very manly only to receive the soap and it end up smelling like an old bar of soap.  I am looking for recommendations/opinions on everyones favorite "manly" scented shaving products.  I quote "manly" because I realize that word is extremely widely interpreted, but when I associate it with shaving, I envision an old, rough hard working man, potentially chopping firewood in a flannel shirt. Smile
At this point the soap that best fits that description in my mind is Mikes Natural Vetiver.

Mine is definitely my own Acadian Spice Bay Rum.

My runners up would be (in no particular order) Speick, Tabac, and a vintage puck of "Barbershop original scent pro shaving bar".

Manly is, as you say, difficult to define. However, Tabac might be something you would like. Also Dapper Dragon Autumn Morning (if you can find it).

Tabac is my go to, but B&M Roam could be the most manly scent I've ever smelt.

Tabac, no question.

It's not my favourite soap, but it is my favourite manly soap. My to go on a Friday ... Tabacaday!

I've started to really enjoy Soap Commander Courage which I find is a nice cologne type manly scent. I could also say either one of Stirling soaps Ozark Mountain or Sharp Dressed Man. They are all manly smelling to me for slightly different reasons. The Ozark Mountain is a rugged but pleasant outdoors type smell and both SC Courage and Stilrling's SDM are both classic cologne style manly scents and cut from the same fine , expensive but manly cloth.

Soapy Bathman Cigar Lounge would probably be my first recommendation. I haven't used it, but I smelled it the other day at Pasteur and nearly bought, but I went in for a puck of Reef Point and stuck to the plan. SBCL has a wonderful rich tobacco scent, as you'd expect, but it's not nasty stogie, more like putting your face in a humidor. I plan to try it at some point. By the way, I love Mike's Naturals, but haven't tried the vetiver. I agree with those who recommend Tabac. That's a masculine classic and a terrific soap. You can find the refill puck for half the price of the puck in the glass jar.

If you have a cologne or toilet water that you really like and want to get a soap that matches, try Irena at Ginger's Garden. She might have a scent on hand that's close. Or she can make you a smell alike shave soap. By the way, her Havana Cognac fragrance is very masculine and a replica, to my nose, of Creed Tabarome--the original, which they withdrew from distribution. It's an acquired taste but might be worth a sample.

As far as manly aftershaves, not that you asked, but it sounds like you might like Fine American Blend.

Sharp dressed man came in the mail today and I love it. I got the AS to match. I agree w the manly cologne. It is one that I believe I will enjoy both shaving with and smelling like.

Liking the Sharp Dressed Man from Stirling, but the Port-Au-Prince seems more 'manly' to me. Real earthy, to me smells a touch of gunpowder too... Don't know why I get that in my olfactory... it goes just splendidly with Fine Clean Veviter, IMHO.
