favorite bay rum products

That is such a bummer!  When i saw that you mentioned that in your thread a few days ago I went out and bought more B&M Bay Rum soap and aftershave - 6 of each so I think I'm good on B&M Bay Rum for at least a year   I appreciate the heads up.  Being a generally skeptical person by nature I am wondering if perhaps there isn't some manipulation/speculation going on in the market - does anybody have independent verification of the destruction of bay plantations?  I mean hurricanes go through every year, hurricane season with which one cannot reason (JB) so the crop could conceivably be destroyed every year couldn't it.  I want pictures.  And a spike in the price of bay futures on the Caribbean Commodity Exchange.

While I certainly do not have a commodities prospectus, every distributor I have dealt with, and several distillers as well, has told me that bay oil is simply unobtainable at this point in time due to the extensive, record-breaking damage. The same is true for medical saline bags, which are in extremely short supply in the US for the moment due to the US Government's failure to move quickly to begin large-scale repairs in Puerto Rico. As I understand it, quite a few things were wiped out by the storm.

I've never cut myself so badly shaving that I've needed a saline drip.  OK, I'm kidding, thanks for putting things in perspective.  We do tend to get single minded here don't we.

Lol! I was just trying to point out that there are lots of things that were severely damaged in the course of the storm, and that it's not like bay was the only thing wiped out.

Best BR soap IMO is Ballenclaugh Maurader Bay.

A vote from me for Barrister and Mann Bay Rum. Very enjoyable and not overpowering on the clove with a nice lime (I think) balance. Great stuff. I am actually sad to see the white container gone as I am now near done and it has been converted to Glissant 2.0 as there is something about the white container base that really works well for me... I think even better than Glissant 2.0 base.

I'm another Blackberry Blossom Bay fan--by far my favorite bay rum. I also like PAA's Bay Rum, and Derby City Chop Shop (which smells more like vanilla than bay). The absence of clove is a must in all my bay rums.

This is why I don't like most bay rums. Anise is another one I can't stand. Blech.
