Thank you Dave

Now I want to use my Dragonsbeard for my 5 day old growth....and I better get out an decently effective/efficient razor for this shave.  Shame on me for going so long.  Cry

Yes it’s no longer a Shave Crème and when it’s made again in the early spring it will only be available in the latest version of the F Base along with all the other former Shave Crèmes. I’ve decided for now to focus on only one base. It makes things simple in many ways. I’ve got a new little trick on how to deal with scents that normally don’t have much resistance to high temperatures that they are normally exposed to in the process of making Shave Soaps.

The reason I’m eliminating the Tallow Shave Crème is I no longer have easy access to a homogenizer which I need to make the Shave Crème properly.

Good question and thank you!

Frank

Ok so no input on how many of the 14 jars of TOAD should make in the 7.5 Black Glass Jars?

I'm very curious and maybe some of you can answer. For a long time DFS made up the biggest majority of my sales and at this time it has gone down to #2 behind Instagram and not for lack of support from DFS but a lot of the Instagrm buyers are from other countries and I get that but what I'm wondering about is how many members on here that have IG accounts DON"T USE their screen names they use on here? Reason I ask is now and then I recognize a customers real name when they put their order in but not sure if they were from here or IG.  I know my curiosity sometimes is a problem!   Dodgy

Thanks guys!

Frank
My IG screen name is different.  And FWIW - odd man out though I may well be - I rarely use IG.

Itallion Stallion, my IG handle is very cold to my DFS handle. You can tell it is me. I am on IG more than DFS. ?

Will fill out your barbershop offering and beef up the "floral all year scents" those of us who live below the Mason Dixon line require.

I would be most interested in the 4.5 ounce jar.

Fridays with Frank ...

Brush .... Tatara Muramasa Adjustable (Synthetic)
Soap1 .... ETHOS Bay Rum
Soap2 .... ETHOS Vanilla Safi
Razor .... Tatara Amakuni
Blade .... Kai Titan Mild ProTouch MG
Post ..... ETHOS Bay Rum SFS
Post ..... ETHOS Vanilla Safi SFS
Finish ... Les Indemodables Vanille Havane EDT

Today's shave was like out of a really sweet dream.  I borrowed a page out of dtownvino's playbook and scraped some ETHOS Bay Rum and Vanilla Safi together into a bowl, using a roughly 2 to 1 ratio.  Swirling some hot water over the soap softened it, and setting the brush to 1 - the lowest, stiffest loft - made quick work of picking the softened soap up and out of the bowl grooves.  Working the suds for a couple of minutes produced a beautiful lather.  FWIW I set the brush to 2 for a little scrub on the first pass, and to about 2 1/2 thereafter.  The Amakuni and ProTouch MG also worked beautifully.

Thank so much for sharing this SOTD Mike. I’ve tried dtownvino Mike’s combo of mixing Vanilla Safi with the Traditional Bay Rum and I really enjoyed the scent combo. It is my personal opinion that Vanilla goes with just about everything. In fact here’s an odd one I just got asked to make as a 2nd time EDP. The first time the customer asked if I would make him a Succes EDP with 10% Vanilla and he and his wife really liked it and he just last week asked to up the Vanilla to 30% and I made it and shipped it out yesterday. I personally would have never thought about mixing those two scents but I have to admit myself my assistant both really liked the combo. So folks keep up the mixology. One of these days it’s my goal to create a Collection called that with all kinds of blends. Many of which will come from input from my customers.

Have a great weekend my friend.
