ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

Been waiting a while for this one.  All recent DFS acquisitions (if you count ethos as DFS-centric which I kinda do). I’m a sucker for buying used items. 

Blackland osprey (level 6-8)
Paladin Winston Vesuvius 
Ethos tears of a dragon
(I have the splash but don’t use AS late at night due to the strength of the scent)

Melissa and Doug shaving thing (it’s got a roller in it) and brush. No chance lathering with that - he needs to steal mine. 

Wow superb all around. The TOAD smells just as everyone describes and it’s wonderful. Complex, strong rose notes with the resiny oud of Dragonsbeard below it. Lots to pick up and there’s more below those two scent profiles. A great “lighter” Dragonsbeard. The splash carries differently than the soap and I think it completes the soap. Maybe the serum will be in my next order for a later at night, less strong scent. A few hours later my skin is still soft.

My son rocked his “shave” too. He selected Russian tea tonight but I vetoed that because I wanted to try this so badly. Next time he’ll get to choose….

This was my first shave with the paladin and first time in maybe a decade using badger again. Lovely brush. It’s a different experience than a good synthetic. I have to work on loading more as I was squeezing every last bit of foam out to finish my second pass but got it done. Where’s the fun in being great at something anyways.

Ok so I have a situation that I have to make everyone aware of.  So as most know we created and sent links to those individuals who were on the list for the Limited Edition Tears of a Dragon. Well I don't know who but someone shared the link with 3 other people who got orders in. We were so busy and orders were coming in so fast it wasn't noticed. The folks that were originally on the list got theirs for sure as those went out before the official release of all the Tears of a Dragon on Saturday morning. So at the time their were 3 leftover from the 17 I had so I told my website developer to add them to the two other size jars as a 3rd variant and when they are gone their gone. So because of the sharing I know have 3 more orders than I have Black Glass jars! So the people who ordered these of which 2 are regular and good customers I can't let them down, cancel their order as I know that at least 2 of the 3 weren't aware of the situation. So this morning I got on the phone with the company that I get the black glass jars from and because of their policy I had to order a bulk batch which I don't really need now as the next release where I use them is in October when we release V6 of the Dragonsbeard. They are coming from CA to NY so even though their shipping them today as a favor it still will take a few days to get to me SOOOOO..... for the 3 people that ordered the Limited Edition it will take some extra days for your orders to go out.  I have some of the smaller sizes left or should I say I saved some to fill these 3 jars coming in. After I do I suspect I'll have some left so anyone that missed out on The Tears of a Dragon I will post up when they go up on the website. I don't want to take any requests to save them as I don't know how many I'll have after I fill the glass jars. 

I talked to my website developer as well as one of my vendors and their suggestion to avoid this situation from repeating itself again is to do a pre sale on limited edition products.. Any thoughts my friends? 

I have to admit I was a little upset when we first discovered this but as I said before I'm not sure that the folks that got their orders in on this knew what was going on and in fact all of them placed more than one order in a 2 day period so I'm pretty certain this was not done maliciously. 

Anyway I thought it best to post this up. 

Hope you all had a great Holiday! I had a very nice one with my son being home but today finds me about 5 lbs heavier from all the good food and sweets. 

I'm sorry that you got dealt with that way Frank.  It's really low, but kudos to you for going the extra mile to make things right.  FWIW the presale sounds like a great way to go.

This latest iteration of the f base does feel a bit slicker but that could just be me. Either way Noel smells so delightful it almost begs to be eaten ? and actually I sneaked a lick as disgusting as that seems and for a soap it wasn't so bad ?. Either way love Noel, I prefer unscented after shave products but may bite the bullet on Noel's splash! Great great work. My new favorite ethos scent after Tonka

Thank you for sharing your experience with ETHOS. It’s good to hear you have your son on to traditional wet shaving.

I look at it as a lesson. It cost me a lot of money to get the 3 jars I needed having to buy a lot of them but looking on the positive side I now have enough for the next batch or two of Limited Edition soaps.

Ok that is the funniest thing I’ve heard about a shave soap. I told my assistant Annette because the whole time we were making Noel she kept saying “ it smells so good I want to eat it “ I told her you tasted it and we both broke out in laughter. It was a crazy busy day yesterday and it made our day stopping for a good laugh.

An thank you for the compliment about Noel. I think I might have made a mistake naming it Noel because people will think it’s only for the holidays but I believe it’s an all year long scent and with the cooling effect of both Shave Soap and Splash I can see being used on a hot summer day for a refreshing SOTD when you in the mood for dessert without the calories!
