Ok this is made and I’m so thankful to Dave in KY for pushing this one on me cause we here at ETHOS, Annette and myself really like it. I admit I had my doubts but those are long gone. Oh and when I mentioned this would an easy infusion compared to the Traditional Bay Rum I’ll have say boy was I wrong. A lot of management on the infusions. I wasn’t purposely looking to make a Fall/Halloween type scent but for me this one fits both. This smells like real Russian Tea.

I’ll have an update on the release date soon.

Getting excited for this if it smells like the real deal Russian Tea Frank. Thanks !

Yes it does Dave as that other one that I had samples of was definitely a synthetic fragrance and actually didn’t smell like Russian Tea and in fact it didn’t have a lot of scent left but that may be because of age. So I didn’t go by that I just did my research on what Russian Tea had in it traditionally as there are some kinda weird ones that people made up and I wanted to stick to the more traditional ones. Making it from scratch and staying with 100% natural aromatics had its challenges but I stayed with the concept and the infusions and they really started to come together about 2 weeks ago so because of Dragonsbeard they had a couple extra weeks to infuse.

Thanks again my friend for the inspiration on this one.

I hope you like it.

Kind regards

Frank

Definitely looking forward to this one.  There is an excellent Russian Tea perfume from Masque Milano that has been in need of a shave soap to pair with it for a long time.

dtownvino Mike as you and I discussed over the phone the Russian Tea scent is a spicy warm aroma with notes of both English Breakfast and Assam strong black teas. I used both loose leaves and some tea bags, Cinnamon sticks and Cinnamon Essential Oil, both Clove buds and Clove Bud Essential Oil. Fresh Orange and Lemon peel, Sweet Orange and Blood Orange Essential Oils. One infusion was done in Tea Vodka and the other in a blend of Carrier Oils. The Aroma blended nicely into a smooth cafe Gourmand scent.

I’ll have to look for a sample of that cologne as all I planned on making was the Shave Soap and Skin Food Splash on this release. Maybe down the road we can add some other products with the aroma.

Thanks guys for your input.

I received my first order from Ethos yesterday, and it certainly won't be my last! I used the First Lather, soap, and splash for a head and face shave, and it was exceptional. Even though this base was new to me, I didn't have any issues at all dialing in a great lather.

I love Dragonsbeard all year round but more so when the weather changes in the Fall. Still have some V2 left, along with a full tub and splash of the V4 and the V5 on the way!
Looking forward to Russian Tea! Bring it on Frank!!!!!

A couple of great looking SOTD photos.

Stickshift I’m glad you enjoyed the Lavender Supreme Soap and splash. The Lavender was one of the first 3 Shave soaps I made. The base has changed throughout the years but it has been a rock steady standard Aroma for ETHOS. A lot of night shavers seem to enjoy it as I believe not all scents are the type you want to smell when going to bed. Real Lavender does have calming and healing properties to it.

Thank you for your support!

Ncardny Nick as always thank you for all your continuous support and a good shaving buddy throughout the years. Dragonsbeard as far as bases as definitely progressed but the Aroma Blend has not changed with the exception that this batch got a minimal amount more of the Oud Resin which gives it a bit more longevity which is most noticeable in the EDP right from the get go but as I’ve mentioned it will continue to get stronger with time because of the two wood Essential Oils of Agarwood/Oud and the East Indian Sandalwood.

I also agree I tend to use it much more frequently in the colder months.

The Russian Tea is going to be released very soon. Just got to get my vendor orders to them and we will announce a release date.

Great shaves!

Hello Cino

It may sound like it because of the spices and Orange and Lemon but it’s definitely much different. Smoother and more gourmand. I noticed that the scent really opens up when lathered as opposed to taking a whiff out of the tub. Of course the Skin Food Splash is where you get a heavy dose of the aroma blend.
