Wow 105 today!  Now that’s hot.

Yesterday we had a severe weather warning of a possible tornado and shortly after the warning it started raining so hard with the wind  at 45 mph and  the rain was finding ways inside. Thank goodness it was on the other side  of the warehouse and not the ETHOS side. I lost some cardboard boxes and that’s about it.

Looks like it’s going to be partly sunny today and temperatures will be a little lower than they’ve been but with higher humidity.
Actually got up to 109 yesterday, I had received a few soaps from a trade with a fellow DFS member in the the mailbox for a little over an hour before I got them out.

An the problem is extreme heat or extreme cold almost always will affect the scent. That’s why I say if you get a soap or cream that turns liquid don’t put it in the freezer! It may get the soap harder faster but it will most definitely diminish the scent strength. The one and only good thing about a soap turning liquid is if someone wanted to modify the scent or add an essential oil or cooling ingredient it would be the time to do it but I certainly wouldn’t recommend using that technique unless it’s planned out carefully.

I did it once to a soap I wanted to try and in its travels across the country in the dead of summer I got a jar of citrus soup in my mailbox instead of hard shave soap. Smelling it I thought I like it but I felt it was a little to bitter citrus for my liking and there was an underlying note I didn’t like mixed with the citrus so I grabbed 3 different sweeter citrus essential oils and mixed them in while the soap was liquid and then left it to get harder again.  I enjoyed that soap for quite some time and would pull it and use it especially in the warm weather all the way up till loosing it in the fire.

Hello sir

I will announce the date as it gets closer on here and on socal media. Shouldn’t be more than 8 to 10 days as the Lemoncello and the Kailua both have to be shipped to the vendors before we release them

Kind regards

Frank

ETHOS Vanilla Safi~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic~~1936 Gillette Aristocrat DeLuxe/Sharp Star~~Vintage Caron Pour Homme
And I thought the Blood Orange was good...
Frank, should I be concerned the soap will stain my white-tipped badger brushes? I purposely used a synthetic for just that reason.

The vanilla will stain your brush a bronze color. It's really not a big deal to me but I've confirmed that it does stain.

The Vanilla can’t help but go brown it can stain but if you use a little shampoo or my professional brush cleaner with a little along soda every once in a while it will take it off. .oh and the lather should look cream in color not brown. I also use synthetic brush with it and also find that synthetics give me more lather when using the Tallow Shave Crème.

primotenore the Vanilla Safi is what I refer to as the Luxury F Base as it’s a one of a kind. So a lot different than the Tallow Crème. I am working on a new soft base that would be compared to the Luxury F Base. In the near future I will be eliminating the Tallow Crème and that will take its place because I don’t have access to a homogenizer since I left the CBD lab job. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed in the new soft base. It’s right there with the Luxury F Base.
