Thank you!
Tough decision, but it's got to be made. For me I could choose either Vetiver or Shave MD and be equally happy with my choice. These are two that I could use every day. SA is one that I like in measured amounts. I made the mistake of picking up Ethos' Mysore Santal Skin Food Splash and no other sandalwood scent comes close. I wish Frank would make a Mysore Santal soap, except I think the price might be too much.

Never used SA but I mirror Frank's thoughts on Vetivert and Shave MD !

Frank, I sure hope you will offer Bay Rum in early 2025 cause I'm in a year long Gryere right now and am sworn off to spend anything during 2024...

Hello Sir
I have Vetiver and ShaveMD in stock now.. Sandalo won't be back up on the site for about a month or so as I have some others that need to be made first. Plus I need to order more Sandalwood. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Best regards
Frank

I definitely have no plans of eliminating any of the Bay Rums from the ETHOS family of products and in fact I've got some ideas on some new variations and I've got my vintage Rum barrel coming so I'm committed for sure.
Thank you for your input!

Frank your spot on.. A Vintage Mysore Sandalwood Soap would be extremely expensive to make in a Shave Soap like my F Base. As an example I just finished making a customer order for a good customer of mine but in a 7.5 oz size of Tallow Shave Creme using my vintage 1934 Vintage Mysore as that's when he wanted and I didn't even charge him what I should have but even with a nice price break it was over a few hundred dollars. If that was a F Base Shave Soap it would likely be at least 25 to 30% more as I'd be forced to use a higher percentage of the Essential Oil because of the Sandalwood being exposed to the high heat of making a Shave soap whereas with the Shave Creme I can add it a room temp... Just a little info. First off there are only a couple suppliers that even carry real Mysore and only two I know of that carry the vintage stuff. Going rate right now for the newer EO is a touch over $500 an oz and for the Vintage depending on the rarity and age are averaging from $620 an oz on up. I recently saw a Red Mysore that was 94 yrs old and it was over $1,100 an oz. So that's why it kills me when I see the word Sandalwood thrown around loosely as even the lower priced variations like authentic Royal Hawaiian, New Caledonia, Australian, Indonesian etc. are around $150 an oz and on up! For example Royal Hawaiian which is one I really like is currently around $350 an oz. Oh yes can you find some for a lot less? Absolutely but a lot of them have been stepped on meaning diluted with carrier oils or another EO like Amyris which is often referred to as the " Poor Man's Sandalwood EO " which is around $15 an oz. So if the price sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! Lot's of scammers out there my friend.
Maybe one day I'll make a small size jar of the Mysore for those that want it. Maybe like a 2 oz size.
Sandalo is a good compromise in my humble opinion and it was never meant to be 100% all Sandalwood.
Thank you for the feedback and bringing up a good subject that is worth talking about.

I’m not in the US, so will probably be easier and cheaper to buy from your European vendor, who seems to have those three in stock at the moment. Just need to decide on which scent to go for as a first purchase.

I have not tried Shave MD but have both Sandalo Artistico and Vetivert. I enjoy both scents. Sandalo was my most used soap last year. However between the two, I have been reaching for Vetivert a bit more these past months. In simple terms, I find that Vetivert is a bit more brighter and "punchier" with its clean sophisticated grassy notes, versus a more relaxed tone from Sandalo, with its deeper woody notes. Both are wonderful scents, depending on what experience you are looking for.

I personally love ShaveMD and Vetivert. It just depends if you want a smell of citrus and ginger or light cologne-based vetiver.
Sandalwood doesn’t leave anything to guess at, it’s Sandalwood and it’s fairly long lasting in scent.
