Love the Dragonsbeard in the F Base. I think V2 has a stronger scent, but I much prefer the convenience of lathering from the tub.[Image: ctGSXcR.png]

I’m glad you like the DB base and as far as the scent you will notice it will get stronger with age Ive kept one example of all the Versions and the older ones are stronger in scent strength but they all stated out the same. One nice thing about any of the wood oils.

Thank you and nice SOTD photo!

So here I read Ncardny comment about the scent being a bit milder and I think, "Now I don't feel like I'm missing out by passing on DB v4 since I have v2."

Then Dragonsbeard comes in and lets us know that, "Au contraire grasshopper, the scent will only get better with age."

Well I can say the scent from my v2 edition is perfect and now I'm wondering how nice it would be to see how the latest addition ages over time.  Dang it, I thought I escaped wanting v4.

Lol. The grass is always greener ...

Imagine how good v5 will be, then? No way I see Frank discontinuing this soap - it's a huge success, and started the whole Ethos business. By time v5 arrives you'll be closer to done with v2, maybe? In the meantime, the money you saved can buy other Ethos soaps you don't have another version of.

At least, that's one way of looking at it. Just trying to help.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not complaining at all. I love Dragonsbeard and am not concerned at all about the scent strength. I just noticed that V2 was stronger. In my opinion, scent strength of a soap is kind of irrelevant. I am applying the post shave products and those are what carry the scent for hours, not the soap. The post shave products are perfect. I should have, and may, pick up the EdP!

Yeah I’ll probably make the Dragonsbeard every year and I’d like to get back to the traditional Oct 1st release date each year.

An yes many natural oils can loose their scent strength with time especially the citrusy ones but all wood oils especially Sandalwood and Oud get better with age and some of the vintage stuff commands stupid expensive prices per oz.

I will make Dragonsbeard until the Oud /Agarwood oil and Oud resin runs out.

Thanks guys for the feedback

Tommy I guest you and maybe others haven’t heard the story about how I got the Agarwood/Oud oil and Oud Resin that’s used in the blend..

It’s late here and I’m going to bed but I’ll tell the story in a post tomorrow and you’ll know why I said what I said about “ until it runs out “

Night my friend

Frank

Dragonsbeard Frank - I would not post about it. Your consigliere urges you to keep it in the family.
