Bergamotto for today. An enticing fresh citrus scent that has a burst of Bergamot with a slight woody vibe to it that is clean and very refreshing. The soap is a bit more subdued versus the splash but, still fills the shave den nicely. Just another killer summer scent that can be used anytime throughout the year with ease. The soap provided plenty of glide for the Blackland Era L5 OC and with a post shave feel that is wonderfully good.

So as the title says I'm having another " Name the product contest. We've had some fun with this before and every now and then a name doesn't come to me for a product and I've gotten some good ones from members on here so I'm reaching out to you again and I'm sure it won't be the last time. LOL

RULES: ( dislike that word ) of the contest.  Each person gets up to 4 different picks and you can post them all up at once or one at a time whenever you think of a new one.

So before I get started on the details of the contest I'd like to start out by saying PLEASE when responding  just follow the rules.

PLEASE QUOTE THIS POST AND ADD YOUR PICKS!  Obviously you can edit your post if let's say you only pick one name today and think of another pick tomorrow etc. But always quote this original post.. it's the only way I can really keep track of things and the post won't get lost so others who come on later can still see it as I want to keep this fair for everyone.  This way will make it easier to find the winning name and the winner of the prize.

You are probably asking  what product are we talking about that I need a name for.  So here's the simple explanation. Myself, my cosmetic chemist friend Joe and an ingredient company both he and I have been working with for over 25 years now came together on this new product. It started out as an idea of mine and I was just going to do it myself but in casual conversations with Joe, he's like this is something I'd like to be a part of as I really like the idea so we contacted the ingredient company ( this is the ingredient company where I get my EOS Complex from ) and we discussed some options and ended up with a bunch of ideas about how we could add some of the latest skincare technology into this product and when we agreed we began the R&D and we finally completed the formula to our satisfaction. I'll be adding this to the ETHOS line of products and I"ll order the labels as soon as I get a name for the product so we can design the label and add the name. This one is a big one so I really want a name that speaks of what this product is. This product addresses all the layers of the skin just so you know and that may be helpful when thinking about a name.

So this is an Additive that is highly concentrated and can be used in many different ways.  First off it contains 50% of the EOS Complex to start with and as I've posted before the complex is made up of 36 Skin Beneficial ingredients and it's a proprietary complex and I have another 3 year proprietary agreement with the ingredient company so It will be around for a while. I'll take some time to briefly explain the EOS Complex. First it's starts out its life from Fermenting 8 different Sea Plants and this is done by a company that specializes in this area. A solution is then sent to the ingredients company and all the other natural bio active ingredients are added. I will moving forward do a more detailed explanation of the benefits and some of the ingredients in the EOS Complex in the future when I have time as it will be a pretty lengthy write up.

Anyway the remaining 50% of the additive contains both some simple proven ingredients like Aloe Vera for example and some other new very innovative actives make up the rest and the ingredient list on the bottle will give them all to you.

So kind of think of this as a Super skin beneficial brew when thinking of a name. This additive will come in a 1 oz bottle with a dropper as seen in the photo image below. You only need a few drops of this concentrated additive. An just so you have an idea there are approximately 500 drops in the 1 oz  bottle. This additive can be added to many different products. For example. If you wanted to boost up the skin benefits of any aftershave splash, lotion, balm and water based serums like my Hyaluronic acid serum to name one. A couple of drops can be added to your shaving bowl when whipping up some lather as well. It can be added to your Witch Hazel, Face tonic Etc. Etc. So you get the picture. So again keep all this in mind when thinking of a name for the product.

Speaking of names here is a few suggestions to get you a winner.
1. Use either English, French, Italian or Spanish when coming up with a name.
2. Keep it simple cause it's gotta fit on a pretty small label.
3. Also sort of easy to pronounce and remember.. that is a challenge sometimes I've found.
4. It can even be a name out of Mythology etc.

So now we get to the prize.. The winner gets his/her choice of either a custom F Base Shave Soap or a Tallow Shave Creme. For the  Aroma there are going to be some limitations such as picking out a cologne scent as those tend to take a lot longer. Also picking out a very expensive Aromatics like Vintage Mysore Sandalwood,  Oud, Red Champaca or any other stupid expensive aromatic.  I'd like to stick to Artisanal Aroma Blending using natural reasonably priced Aromatics such as any of the citruses, Some florals, Woods like Cedarwood , Lavender, Peppermint  etc etc. are all acceptable. What we will do after the winner is named is that person and myself can talk things over about what they would like as their custom Aroma blend.  Also included is a matching Skin Food Splash and of course a bottle of the new additive.

So lets have some fun and I can't wait to start to hear your picks. Oh and please take your time getting all 4 of your picks posted up. I'm going to close this contest on Sunday night at 6pm and will name the winner on Monday morning. So get them in before the closing time.

Good luck to all

Frank

We are on an extended sojourn in our RV, stopping in a number of places. This includes the Finger Lakes Region, a place this California boy has never seen before--I don't live there. When we travel, I really enjoy sampling the local cuisine, ice cream, wine and beer. I particularly like hard cider. In any case, the week we spent in the Finger Lakes area was really a pleasure. It is laid back with a lot of craft distilleries, breweries, cideries and, of course, wineries. But then you know that, even if you don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. I, myself, grew up near Napa and Sonoma California (and San Francisco) so I am very familiar with heavily traveled tourist haunts. The Finger Lakes area reminds me of Napa back when I first started hanging out at wineries there in the early '70s. As I said, laid back. You live in a beautiful area.

Remembering a shave brother that is no longer with us. A good friend, a gentleman, a dedicated family man and just a decent human being. You are missed Mark (ShaveMD). The scent was his preferred (custom made I believe) creation from Ethos. Almost like taking Ginger Ale and mixing in a tiny bit of 7-UP/Sprite. Very good stuff and performance par excellence.

Great shaves to all…

He is very much missed my friend. He was definitely one of the good guys and as you said. He gave a lot to the wet shaving community. I’ll be making another in the next couple weeks and every year thereafter to keep him around here.

In his words “ Hey Buddy “  thanks for posting this SOTD my good friend!

Question:

Would you guys like and support if I make Roll Up Deodorant Sticks?  Reason is I’ve been thinking about I have a hard time getting a scent I like lately.  I wouldn’t make a ton of different aromas but maybe like 4 to 6 with Bay Rum being one of them along with Succes, Greenfresh and Vetivert for now and then some colder weather scents come Fall. Not sure it’s worth the effort.

Also if I did would you rather have the oval roll ups or the round. The rounds like my Roll up shave sticks cost more.

My son thinks I’m crazy as he said you can’t compete with major brands price wise.  I told him I ordered Dr Squatch Bay Rum and it was $13.50 and it smells like synthetic Bay Rum.  I could probably match that price. Can’t go head to head with Gillette or any of the big companies that are in the $5 to $6 range.

I said I’ll ask in the forum see what they say. I do have a good formula I can use should I do it

Absolutely interested in some natural baking soda free stuff, preferably a jar option so I can scoop out a pea size amount and apply.
