Tortola has more of a Caribbean island feel but it still in the same family. I love them both, but Tortola is special.

Frank I think you nailed both of these scents!! You're right, there's a ton of bay rum's out out there, but you landed on the top tier with yours my man.

We have a new member of the Blue Note Family and it will be available at both The Razor Company and on the ETHOS website.  It will get shipped with the rest of the order with the other new releases  We are targeting Friday the 12th and hopefully there’s no issues with the postal service and we can all launch together. FYI this was my post on Instagram so kinda fancy lol

Great weekend all

Been using the Healing Serum in the Lost Souls scent for the past couple days.

Been thinking of it for a while but have confirmed: Lost Souls is my favorite of many excellent Ethos scents. Really reminds me of a hike in the evergreens after a rainstorm, very invigorating. Not just the smells of the woods and needles, but captures the smells of the forest floor, like a TRUE Fougere (... that is the original definition), better than anything I've ever smelled. Having the light cooling effect from the peppermint oil is a perfect touch... it makes it all crisp (but without being minty) and dilates the sinuses. Perfectly conceived and blended, Frank! Don't change a thing!

The Healing Serum is also making the skin feel great... very supple and absorbs well. Just need a squirt or two on wet palms, then massage it everywhere.

I’m glad you like the scent it has special meaning to me as you know as it was a tribute to my ex-wife who passed. She would take her morning walks in the woods and parks in western NY so that was the inspiration for the Aroma blend.

I have it in my schedule for this fall and I’ll add some other products in the Aroma Blend when I do.

Enjoy your Sunday my friend!

The last couple of posts reminded me of my late/previous wife also. She walked in the woods every day (and night) as her way of coping. Life is good, but interesting how even a description of a scent can be instantly and vividly evocative, yet peaceful.

I tend not to like most sophisticated scents, possibly because I’m also allergic to some of them (maybe the patchouli?). Even a barbershop scent I was spritzed with recently choked me up. Still, I’ve never tried a fougere; perhaps I should.

So true scent can bring back both good and not so good memories as well as feelings and emotions etc.

Also something to consider and I always say this, before drawing a conclusion to being allergic to a scent..make sure your smelling the real thing and not an aroma chemical that's supposed to smell like the real deal..in your example of Patchouli, you could maybe have a reaction to a aroma chemical or fragrance oil that simulates ro tries to smell like real Patchouli whereas you may not have a reaction to the real thing... this can also work the opposite way as well but in my experience the naturals have a better chance of not causing a reaction.

There are many versions of Fougeres out there so it's a wide spectrum where you might dislike one a lot and love another a lot..I"m one of those.

I won't go on about the premium quality of the products.  We already know this and have come to expect it with Frank's products. These were no exception; simply the best! I hope to see more Tortola products. The fragrance was intoxicating. I wanted to drink it!

I second this! I love the Bay Rum as well as the Tortola, and I hope there is a Tortola Soap to go with the Splash someday.

Hey thanks guys for the encouraging comments.  As I’ve stated before I was a little nervous making a Bay Rum for the first time as I know there are a lot of real Bay Rum lovers on here so these types of posts gives me confidence in knowing they both turned out good enough to meet up to Bay Rum lovers.

Tortola is currently one of my personal favorites and honestly I find myself using it a lot.  So I’m absolutely going to try and expand the  Tortola into other products moving forward.  So definitely on my to do list.

Thank you gentlemen for your support!

Frank
I’m glad to hear that you’re going to expand the Tortolla line. It’s a great scent as is your Bay Rum. I used them today. Love it. I’m glad you took a plunge into the wild world of bay rum.  This Zac Brown Band song was actually written about bay rum!

Frank,  can you describe the scent profile of Rosa?  Is it a pure rose or is there other stuff going on?

Thank you Mark

Like I mentioned I was. Little bit nervous about he first time making Bay Rum so I’m glad the Traditional and the Tortola have been accepted into the Bay Rum community. I’m looking forward to making the next batches.

Oh and I’m a Zac Brown fan so thanks for sharing!

Hi Cino

Yes the s scent profile is fairly simple as it a 100% natural blend of various Rose Aromatics . No other notes. Below is the Rosa F Base Shave soap which has the full spectrum of all the Rose Aromatics used in it. The Serum for example because it’s oil based doesn’t contain the Rose Floral Water.

CORRECT Ingredients: Aloe Vera Juice, Organic Bulgarian Rose De Mai Hydrosol, Stearic Acid, Grass Fed Beef Tallow, Duck Fat, Organic Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Cocoa Butter, Kokum Butter, Cupuacu Butter, Organic Rose Butter, Organic Glycerin, Potassium Stearate, Sheep Milk, Camel Milk, Sodium Hydroxide, Grass Fed Bison Tallow, Argan Oil, Organic Rosehip Seed Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Organic Bulgarian Red Rose Damask Essential Oil, Organic Bulgarian White Rose Essential Oil, Organic Rose Extract CO2, Organic Rose Distillate, Ostrich Oil, EOS Complex, Allantoin, Organic Rose Damask Absolute, Oat Amino Acids, Silk Amino Acids, Soy/Rice Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid Oil, Organic Vitamin E Oil, Sodium Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Rose Extract, Lanolin, Comfrey Extract Calendula Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, Rose Hip Extract, Milk Thistle Extract, Chamomile Extract. Capritolin (Natural Preservative).

So it’s a Aroma blend of multiple but natural Rose Aromatics with no other notes but because of the different Aromatics it does take one on a Rose journey and because I have smelled each of the individual Rose Aromatics I can detect them in the blend.

When I come out with the Mixology Collection I think Rosa will mix well with so many other Aromatics .

Hope I’ve explained things.
