ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

UPDATE: 

The Face & Body Roll - On Shave Sticks went live on the website in 8 different aromas. I have Unscented to just waiting on the labels on that one. 

These were all made before the move to the new location and all I was waiting on was the labels and of course after the move. With trying to play catch up on everything I’ve been using these Roll Ups almost exclusively since I’m doing mostly fast 2 pass in shower shaves and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the lather and shaves you get with these. I played with different shaving brushes and in my humble opinion these work best with synthetics specifically my Simpson T3 which I’ve admittedly been a bit obsessed with since getting it. I’ve tried using a bunch of post shave products after using the soaps that includes Skin Food Splashes, the new Lotions and the upcoming post shave facial mist and my skin has been feeling great. 

These are the Aromas I have now and I’ll be adding more as we move forward.

4. Lavender Supreme 
5. Mandarin & Sweet Orange
6. Sweet Lavender 
7. Peche de Vigne

My main focus this week is getting all the Sandalo Artistico products made.

Thought I’d share this story. 

This Aroma blend was Inspired by a trip to Nordstrom ‘s Fragrance department in NYC with my son and his fiancé and also  the girl behind the fragrance counter who is a Fraghead like myself.  Tom Fords Lost Cherry was great scent and my son bought it for Felicia his fiancé but the longer on has my nose on the scent I came to the conclusion that a layer of Tonka Bean would be a killer combo and he girl behind the counter was all in on that idea. She had a Tonka Bean based perfume but it was all synthetic and to me left a lot to be desired and at $400 a bottle it was an absolute no go!I told the group I had real Tonka Bean back home and I’ll make a a real Tonka Bean perfume to layer with the Tom Ford Lost Cherry,. So when I got back to my workbench I not only made that for Felecia I decided to use as many natural Aroma ingredients  as possible and get close to the all synthetic TF Lost Cheery and also add in some authentic Tonka Bean butter and Absolutel. Oil to the blend.  The result was a unique aroma blend I actually like a lot. Im bringing one of these new Roll On Shave Sticks to the Girl at Nordstrom’s and Felecia when I go to NYC next month. So here’s the Aroma Blend ingredients:  Cherry Liqueur Accord, Bitter Almond Essential Oil, Mixed Berry Accord, Rose Essential Oil, Jasmine Essential Oil, Tonka Bean Butter, East Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil, On the website under Shave Sticks or in the Her Shave Collection but gentlemen this isn’t just for the ladies as it’s truly a unisex scent! I think I need to make a post shave product in this scent as I think this one may become popular. Just a gut instinct.

NOTICE: 

Some of the Tonka Bean Skin Food Splashes on the last release got made with Perfumers Alcohol. My then assistant filled the bottles with it by mistake . This did not happen to all of the Tonka Bean SFS that have been sold. We ran out of one batch and had to make another quick small batch before the move to our new location and this is the one with the problem.

Perfumers Alcohol is used when making EDP’s which are meant to be sprayed on trigger points but definitely not used as a aftershave as it would give you a strong feeling burn that would last for a good minute or so and if used on a regular basis as an aftershave it would certainly dry out your skin! 

So if you have gotten one of the Tonka Bean Skin Food Splashes that’s doing this please contact me as I don’t want anyone using that and I will replace it.  

Just keep the one you have and I will send you a sprayer with the new bottle of SFS so you can still use your bottle but use it as a spray on EDT as they have a lower percentage of the Aroma ingredients in them than the EDP’s do. 

So please email ( not pm ) me and I’ll get you taken care of asap.  If you got your SFS at one of my vendors you’ll need to contact them as they have records of your order.

My assistant Gino sends his apologies as well as myself for not testing the batch he made before shipping them out.  

A little bit about Gino. He’s my sons lifelong friend and like a 2nd son to me and honestly the best assistant I’ve had so far. Hie was injured at his full time job and had to have surgery so out of work for months. He started helping me when he was feeling better but  was not cleared to go back to his full time job. He was finally cleared by the Doctor to go back two days after moving to the new location. He and I were hoping he could continue to work with me on a part time basis as  he normally was working 40 hrs  a week but since going back they’ve been making him work overtime and even on his day off so like 70 hrs a week! So since helping me move to the new location he has only worked with me 2 times for a few hours. He has 2 little ones so between his job and his family he won’t be able to work at ETHOS anymore.  So I need to find another assistant. So far no luck. I’m definitely a little overwhelmed and it may take a little longer to get some projects done or orders shipped out but I’m putting in a lot more hours and I will get caught up and hopefully find a new assistant soon.

It probably was from my website or The Razor Company or The Shave Supply. I talked to Jason this morning about and he would like to handle any of his customers that had an issue with it.

I bought my SFS from you during the initial release of Tonka Bean. The first two or three times I used it, it burned like fire. Now that I've used it quite a bit more, that burning sensation went away and now it's no more than your typical alcohol burn and maybe even less. Earlier today I tried both my original and the bottle that came yesterday and they seem to be the same.

I'm glad to hear it's calmed down and that's interesting to know. I had suggested with one of my customers from Armenia to add a little distilled water or Aloe Vera juice or even a little Witch Hazel as they would all dilute the Alcohol cutting down on the sting. Perfumers alcohol is 200% so strong. So let me know through an email if your are ok with what you have or if you'd like a new bottle. It seems like you did not get one of the strong ones that I mentioned this last order as like I mentioned not all of them had the Perfumers Alcohol in them. Just the ones that Gino made.

I just want my customers to be happy with their purchases. So if anyone has a problem I want to know.

Hi Frank - I’m trying to understand the Face and Body Soap line in comparison to your regular face shaving soaps. Would it be fair to say that the in-shave performance of the Face and Body soaps is comparable to your regular line in terms of slickness, glide, etc., and the main difference is the skin conditioning ingredients in your regular shave soap that provides that aftershave feel? If not, can you compare and contrast the two. Thank-you.

Great question and I’m going to do a couple side by side shaves with both the S and F bases to see how they compare and I’ll report back.
