You take a drive in either?  Magic!  Back when bad drivers paid a terrible price instead of being saved by electronics

Ok I can't resist on this post.. as some know I've been racing cars for almost all of my adult life ( retired from it about 6 years ago ) starting at 17 yrs old.  I had the pleasure of driving a authentic 1965 427 AC Cobra once with a friend of mine that owned one.  Tons of torque and
traction was almost impossible on street tires but you could feel the potential with better tires.  It was a memorable experience back then.

And here I was worried about hijacking your thread LOL. Step on the gas too much and you'll be staring out the back end at 180° of what you were watching correct Frank?

I got to drive the AC replica but only had a ride in the Daytona coupe before they were both sold. My brother had the intention of doing a GT50 kit next but life got in the way....

I hadn't known that about you, Frank. I never drove an authentic Cobra, but many years ago I met Carroll Shelby through one of his sons, who was buddies at USC with a friend of mine. Carroll let me drive a 1966 GT350 Mustang, and that brief but very memorable experience led me years later to own a 1967 Sunbeam Mark II 289 Tiger (the 'poor man's Cobra') from 1982 to 1986. I didn't race it except on some auto slalom courses.

I would agree with the others who suggested that you re-make the original Vanilla Safi. You can't beat a classic.

Ok guys I'm ok with a hijack if we are talking cars LOL

Dave sounds like you had a good experience with the replica. Never drove one of those but certainly have seen my fair share of them at car shows, events and at race tracks. And your right the ass end can come out under you real easy. like a Viper which to me is the modern Cobra as it has no nannies to correct driver errors.

What a awesome experience meeting Carroll Shelby. An auto legend and the GT 350 Mustang is a classic! Drove one on the street a couple of times but never on a track but they had good track history in race form.

Just going to run something by you to get some feedback.  So I’ve gotten a lot of messages in the past couple of months about Vanilla Safi. Most ask when I’ll make it again but along with that question I get this…”  it’s my favorite ETHOS Shave soap and I not only love the pure Vanilla scent but love the base “ also they ask will you change the base to the F Base ?  Most will add the statement. I hope you make it exactly like the last time. So looking back, I called that base a
“ Premium S Base ‘ as it was a one off base made with several different fats which included Beef Tallow, Duck Fat along with Camel Hump Fat and regular Camel Fat. It also has both Sheep and Camel milk in it and some nigh quality  oils like Marula and Kalahari Melon oil etc. etc.  So it was basically a “  One Off Base “ unlike any other I’ve made.  So the Vanilla Beans are infusing and it probably won’t be ready until after the Holidays but my question to you is, should I make it an F Base or make it exactly the same way as the original?  Again from the messengers I’ve gotten on the subject all but one wants me to make the original base. It’s been on my mind lately especially when I check on the infusion so I thought  why not ask the forum members as I know a good amount of you have the Vanilla Safi shave soap.

Below is a list of the ingredients

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

So after some thought , the responses on here and a bunch of texts and a phone call I’m going to make the Vanilla Safi in the original base.

I’ve also had a few emails and some pm’s asking about a post shave product that matches the shave soap. Here’s my thoughts on that . I don’t think a Pure Vanilla Skin Food Splash is a good idea. I mean how many of you want to walk around smelling like Vanilla ? I know I don’t. With that said what does go really well with the Vanilla Safi is Tonka Bean . So when I use the Vanilla Safi I follow with the Tonka Bean Skin Food Splash. Also I’ think the Vanilla/Tonka Bean combo works really well in a Serum ( Ive made quite a few of those for customers) and also another good blend is Vanilla, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood. Again I’ve made a few serums with that combo for customers. I just got a request for a Vanilla Skin Food lotion with a little bit of Tonka Bean in it. I’ve also been told that a blend of the Blood Orange and Vanilla go well together but haven’t tried that yet so no thoughts on that combo. Also just so you know one of the projects I’ll be doing this winter is a Non-Synthetic version of Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille. Of course it won’t smell exactly like the real thing as that’s all Synthetic aroma chemicals but it will definitely have that vibe and aroma profile. It will go in the Humidor Collection and I’m sure it will also pair well with the Vanilla Safi Shave soap. The reason I know this because I made a small 1 oz blend and it’s been infusing for about 2 months and it smells great so I will be moving forward on that this winter after the Vanilla Beans are completely infused which I’ll be also using for making the Vanilla Safi.

Any thoughts?

Enjoy your weekend gents!

Agreed on the Vanilla post shave.

There are several post shave edt's and edp's that work great with the Safi. My favorite is Guerlain's Vanille Double Spiritueuse. Get healthy Frank. It has a resin accord so one doesn't smell like a cookie.

When you make the Safi, can you do a custom Safi with the F Base?

I can do that or I was thinking maybe I can start a pre - order list of people that want it in the F Base and this way I can do 2 separate batches and know how many I have to make.
