Hello everyone

Just going to run something by you to get some feedback.  So I’ve gotten a lot of messages in the past couple of months about Vanilla Safi. Most ask when I’ll make it again but along with that question I get this…”  it’s my favorite ETHOS Shave soap and I not only love the pure Vanilla scent but love the base “ also they ask will you change the base to the F Base ?  Most will add the statement. I hope you make it exactly like the last time. So looking back, I called that base a
“ Premium S Base ‘ as it was a one off base made with several different fats which included Beef Tallow, Duck Fat along with Camel Hump Fat and regular Camel Fat. It also has both Sheep and Camel milk in it and some nigh quality  oils like Marula and Kalahari Melon oil etc. etc.  So it was basically a “  One Off Base “ unlike any other I’ve made.  So the Vanilla Beans are infusing and it probably won’t be ready until after the Holidays but my question to you is, should I make it an F Base or make it exactly the same way as the original?  Again from the messengers I’ve gotten on the subject all but one wants me to make the original base. It’s been on my mind lately especially when I check on the infusion so I thought  why not ask the forum members as I know a good amount of you have the Vanilla Safi shave soap.

Below is a list of the ingredients

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

If you release both, I will literally set aside some money to get 2 of each base. If not, my vote goes for the same base you did before.

Frank, Vanilla Safi was such a hit and talked about that it should be done exactly the same for 2 reasons. (1) Those wanting it again will be looking for the same thing (that's why they are returning to buy) (2) Those wanting it due to the talk about it will be looking for what they heard about and should get the same thing that they heard so much about. Just my thoughts if it can be duplicated. That said, I have mine and it will last me quite some time so not rebuying at this time. Best Wishes

From a scent perspective I would think the original base showcases the vanilla better than the F base. I base this on what you've said in the past, though only for specific scents (citrus maybe?), that the F base process burns off the scent due to the higher heat and may need higher concentration of scent material to make up for it, driving up the cost?

Funny you mention that illustration Dan as it's exactly what my brother did when he built his Cobra. Then sold and built the Daytona Coupe.....both Factory 5 kits I believe

Ok I can't resist on this post.. as some know I've been racing cars for almost all of my adult life ( retired from it about 6 years ago ) starting at 17 yrs old. I had the pleasure of driving a authentic 1965 427 AC Cobra once with a friend of mine that owned one. Tons of torque and
traction was almost impossible on street tires but you could feel the potential with better tires. It was a memorable experience back then.
