But offering a stick opens a new mkt for men - travel. Would recommend going with your high quality F Base in these though for a travel geared line and use your std scents (colonia, succes, vetyvert&c)

Thanks guys!

Seems like the idea of a shave stick is where you think I should go. So a round roll up or an oval deodorant type which hits more surface space?

Let's complicate thing for you and do both. Actually though, I think the oval would be good and it's a different shape from all the other tube style sticks. Oval also gives you a true front/back for labeling.

Either one would do for me, but since you asked, the argument for oval makes sense to me.

Im thinking that men would like the round better and it packs better to while women have a lot more acreage to shave than men so the oval would probably be there choice. I don’t want to have to make two different packages so I’ve got to settle on one. I think I’ll order a sample of an oval and make two testers and let’s some ladies I work with give them a try. I don’t think either would make much of a difference to a man. Me personally I’d like the round if I was a shopper.

Thanks for the input Mike!

I'm thinking, from a travel perspective, the round is probably more compact.

I'd be curious what would be better for body shavers, women shaving legs, etc..

I know Cremo did one, not too long back, that was oval (deodorant shaped). I wonder if that was to be different or for some sort of purpose (like above?).

Personally, the round is probably easier to maneuver on a small face. But I'm thinking it's not a big deal either way.

EDIT: Oops, you responded while I was typing Frank. I think we're of the same mind here.

Round cylandre.

Round cylandre just packs better in mini 'dopp bags' more practical than the full size dopp bags sold for the purpose. A favourite are the mini Tumi bags given to Bus and 1st class pax on major airlines - they simple sturdy black bags about 15x10x10cm. The size is PERFECT for carrying Tabac Stick, 2oz ETHOS hca and Skin Food mix sprayer, Simpson 2 pc 2 band Travel brush and Merkur 3 pc Travel razor - can even squeeze in a small Pens sprayer.  Takes up hardly any room so makes packing clothes easy to comply with carryon size restrictions thus avoiding baggage check.

Those of you wondering if an oval shape is superiour for body shavers can stop wondering. Am a body shaver year round. Absolutely zero advantage to oval stick. In fact it more prone to the soap breaking off - that a fact repeated often when encountering those oval sticks

I'd do the oval for more coverage.

Do a drop test. I have dropped the oval versions twice and the container broke both times, and became unusable. I have dropped the Arko and Derby shave sticks in the shower and those containers have never broken. I think it has to do with the rotating knob being smaller on the oval version versus the full span size of the rotating knob on the tube version.
