Hi, may I know the difference between a S and F base besides the firmness? I know both are great base, but what is really the difference?

The difference in the F base and S base are as you mentioned different in as one is firmer than the other. The difference in that area ( firmness) has narrowed as the new S Base is much firmer than the old S Base. Also due to some ingredient differences and percentage differences one of the things that’s different is the lather on the F Base is a bit more dense and will stay closer to the skins surface while the S Base is a little more fluffy and thicker. Post shave is where I notice another difference. The S Base post shave is felt almost immediately and the F Base is almost what I call like “ Time Released “ they both leave the skin soft but not oily or waxy and will stay that way as they both have ingredients that not only address the epidermis layer of the skin but active ingredients that address the Dermis layer.
I will also note that I’ve been doing some slight adjustments to both formulas in the last few months and yesterday I used the newest upcoming F Base release ( tomorrow) which is The King of the North and the slickness blew me away and to me the slickest shave soap I’ve ever made before and the adjustments will be used in all the upcoming releases. Same goes for the newest S Base. I feel like I’ve got both formulas exactly where I want them.

So hopefully that explains things.

Good question!

Thank you for asking

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Really much appreciated.

I'll be getting some Ethos when TRC restock them, but may I ask if the exclusive soap with TRC is made with the new S base you talked about? Somehow I got some memory of reading it somewhere that it will be made with S Base.

Thanks again.
