They're fabled

Tomorrow morning at 10am EST the new F Base Lavender Supreme and Succes Shave Soaps will be live on the ETHOS Grooming Essentials website. Both in the new 4.5 oz size and larger 7.5 oz size.  On Friday the Fresco and Nuage de Citron will be released with the Melange Di Agrume, Vetivert, Mandarino Fumo, Bergamotto,  Tabac Blanc and the V3 Dragonsbeard to follow.  

I’m very excited about this new base and the new aroma blends. 

Some may be wondering why the 4.5 oz size. Well since this base is more firm/dense than my standard base it lays down lower in the jar and I like a nice aesthetic fill. Call it OCD but I’ve been filling my hair care products like that for years so doesn’t look right to me if it’s not filled to a certain point.

Like all ETHOS products they are priced according to what’s in the product and it’s usually the aroma blends which dictate that fluctuation in prices between one product and another. I call it “realistic pricing “ . Example the Fresco which is a Lime forward essential oil blend is going to be less expensive than the Nuage de Citron or Dragonsbeard V3 which contains in the aroma blends much more expensive essential oils and Absolutes. Also know that when an aroma blend is not 100% natural I’ll let you know by percentages. Example. Mandarino Fumo is 98% natural as the only aroma ingredient that’s not is the Leather Accord as there’s no such thing as Leather essential oil. Other than that one ingredient the blend is 100% natural. 

I’d like to also talk a little about the post shave of the F Base. All I can say is I find it unique and I’ve been testing a lot of great shave soaps lately to experience the different types of post shave they provide and that’s when I came to the conclusion that the F Base post shave was unique.  I believe that the higher percentage of both the EOS Complex and Hyaluronic acid in the F Base formula produces what I call an almost time -released post shave experience. I’ll explain. If anyone is familiar with using Hyaluronic acid serum like my Replenish as an example you’ll notice the skin gets plumped up after first putting it on the skin and some may describe it as sort of tight feeling as it dries down and then as the plumpness starts to fade away that’s when it’s replaced by this feeling of softness of the skin that starts to show up and continues to make your skin feel softer and softer. This is very similar to  what the  F Bases unique post shave provides and it’s pretty noticeable. So it still rinses clean like the standard base but after the skin  dries you get that plump feeling I mentioned. After about an hour that begins to turn into this super soft feeling on the skin that continues to build and build as time goes by and even after several hours there’s still no feeling of oiliness or any waxy residue which waxy is something I really dislike!  The active skin beneficial ingredients provide this post shave experience and don’t totally rely on the butters, fats or oils to provide a good post shave experience. Not saying they don’t contribute but it’s not all about over super fatting the soap which can give an oily feeling to the post shave. It took a lot of testing to get there but I finally feel I’ve achieved my goal and I hope you all enjoy the new F Base.

I’ve also been testing how long to load and I’ve come to the conclusion that between 20 and 30 seconds provides more than enough for 3 passes. I’d say it’s sort of thirsty but not to much so and you’ll have to play with it as sometimes water is different. I also find that after my initial swirling of the brush to work in my lather on my face that painting this more dense later on works best adding a little water at a time until the lather is super rich and creamy. Also one more thing I’ve been doing lately is instead of completely rinsing my face after each pass I just stick my hands under running water and work it around my face so all of the shave soaps is not rinsed off and a slick film is left and I’ll then lather up right over that when I do this the slickness goes off the charts. I’ve done this with some of my other shave soaps and I like this technique better with them as well. So just a suggestion.

BTW all the new soaps coming out no matter what base are in my new jars. 

Oh and the Succes in the standard M base in all 3 sizes is back in stock and the Lavender Supreme will be back in stock next week in all 3 sizes. 4 oz, 7.5 oz and Travel size.

F base for now only comes in the 2 sizes. The 4.5 oz and 7.5 oz

Dragonsbeard Is the width of the 4.5oz jar the same as the 7.5oz jar?

Yes my 4.5 and 7.5 oz jars have the same 80/400 neck size.  So does the 4 oz Standard Base ( M Base ) jars. 

I think I may also use the same jar for my Non Tallow Shaving Creme. Only fill that to the top which is exactly 6 oz.

Hi all 

Well this Monday we have a couple of new additions to the ETHOS line up of Shave Soaps being released in the new F Base.  Both in the 4.5 oz and 7.5oz sizes. Unfortunately the matching splashes won’t be ready for about a week after the soaps because when we got the proofs back for the labels we noticed a mistake on all the new Skin Food Splash labels.  Got right by me my graphic designer but thankfully we caught the mistake when the printers sent back the files for us to approve. I’ll post up when their ready. 

Well here’s the Fresco and the Nuage de Citron.
