Have 2 days of shaves in using a sample of the new firm base. I must say this is the best soap yet. Firm enough to easily load your brush in the tub if that is what you prefer, yet I could still scoop out a small amount to bowl lather. It lathers easily. Provides wonderful protection, and for me, gives the best glide yet with great post slickness. BTW the scent I believe is a new one Frank is working on. To my simple nose it is a wonderful citrusy Fougerre.

The aroma blend is something I basically stumbled on playing around. I don’t have a name for it but it’s a citrusy Vetiver and I like it so much I think I’ll add it to the soap making list. I’ll also note Im really fussy about Vetiver scents as Im not at all a fan of Guerlain Vetiver and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is ok but sold a bottle after trying to like it for a few months. This scent is very fresh and clean to me and the Citrus pops. The other notes and the Vetiver show up later on down the road.
I’ll post all the notes when I’m closer to the release date.

UPDATE: 

I have one of the custom Vanilla Safi Shaving bowls left as I haven’t heard back from one of the people on the list. I put it up on the website. 

There may be a 2nd one also as I’ve been waiting for another person who says he wants his that I saved since the release a few weeks ago but he hasn’t continued the order process so I’ll give him another week to do so and if not and I’ll put that up on the website.  I think I’m being fair. 

For those that have asked there are a total of 18 of them including the one I kept for myself. 

Thanks to everyone for the support and the encouraging words on making the Vanilla Safi again in the future. I’m mulling that over. Lol

Another name the product contest. 


Ok so for those that caught Shavemd Marks post about being a tester for the new upcoming ETHOS F Base aka Firm base. He mentioned the scent which was something I stumbled on playing with the idea of putting a Vetiver based aroma blend together but as I mentioned in a former post it’s a small window when it comes to a Vetiver I like and all the others that I don’t like. So after playing for a couple of weeks I came up with a Vetiver based Aroma blend that I really like and would feel good putting it out to market. 

I’m going to give you a few thoughts on the scent and the direction I’d like to go with the name of the product and I’m also wondering which Collection I should put it in or do I create a new one. As you can see this Aroma blend caught me off guard and I’m drawing a blank on this one. 

So here’s some words or feelings I get when I smell this
scent that might help when coming up with a name. 

Clarity 
Clean 
Subtlety addictive 
Citrusy Green
Smooth but not creamy
A sprinkling of green

Names I like for ETHOS products 

Simple but creative
Classic but not boring. 
I do like words in other languages if they fit the product. 

Names I don’t like for ETHOS products 

Cartoonish or comical ones - not there yet
Not more than 3 words 


Ok so here’s the contest.

Ends next Sunday at 12 noon EST when I’ll pick a winner. 

Winner gets the first production Shave Soap and matching Skin Food Splash in this new scent when it’s released. Also a Restore Shave Brush Cleanser and odor eliminator & Restore Shave Brush Conditioner and one of the new Shampoo/Body washes. 

Each person gets 4 picks. An based on the past I’d say don’t try to pick all 4 at the same time. So take your time before you complete the 1 - 4 picks. 

Also make sure if picking a name that’s another language please post the meaning of the name.
