Is there a waiting period before they are washed out and do they need to be dry for a certain period of time ? How many cleaning should be available per bottle ? How often should a silvertip vs boar brush be treated ? How do you recommend treating a synthetic brush ? And, I am sorry but what is the difference between the 2 formulations ? Also I assume these formulations are unscented. Let us know as this looks very useful.

Ok so when cleaning a brush using the Restore Clarifying & Odor Eliminator it’s very easy, just pour some in the center of the brush and then I find that using a shaving bowl works best but I also just built the lather in my hands and that worked well also but still think that bowl is easier. 
Then depending on wether you need to just remove cosmetic weight build up or you have to get rid of either a funky animal like odor or a build up of fragrance oils would determine how long to leave it on. Example. If your just getting rid of an unwanted smell then the odor then that can take as little as 30 seconds up to a few minutes of soaking depending on how bad it is but I did a Badger brush I got from Europe and it had that funky animal smell and it took only about 2 minutes of soaking to get rid of the odor. Also according to a friend of mine who is a brush maker some brushes come with an oil that they use to keep the hair protected which can very much affect the performance of a shave brush as I’m sure many have experienced when getting a brand new brush as it takes a while to get it off and many call that the break in stage but it might just be the protective oil that’s the issue and the Restore gets rid of that with a couple of minutes of swirling in the bowl and then letting it soak for a couple of minutes. So lots of variables as far as how long to let it soak and if need be just do a second application after rinsing but I didn’t run into that when cleaning all of mine   

So to sum it up you can use it to: 
1. immediately get rid of that “ New Brush “  beak in period. 
2. Eliminate any odors that the brush has wether a funky smell or from a fragrance oils or even sone essential oils like Patchouli oil which tends to linger.  
3. Get rid of any cosmetic weight build up the brush picks up from the butters and oils used in shaving soaps. 

I will add that a good sign of build up is if the brush hairs do not dry evenly and looks like it’s separating. This can also happen to synthetic brushes as I had two that were doing that.

The Restore brush conditioner will restore the hairs moisturize balance back while the Proteins and other conditioning ingredients will keep the hairs in the brush in good condition of the brush hairs. Another example. I got a very high end brush that after receiving it the brush definitely needed breaking in because I tried using it 3 times and it wasn’t meeting my expectations as the brush hairs didn’t seem as soft as I’d had expected and I’m like I’m not sure I like this brush and it was the first brush I used the 2 Restore products on and it was a wow moment as it’s like a completely different brush and the tops are now very soft and I’ve been using it a lot now and really enjoying it.  

So the Restore brush cleaner and  conditioner are two completely different formulas but work in synergy to maintain your shaving brushes  maximum performance level.

Wanted to share a few new and upcoming projects and products. 

So today I made two custom products for two different customers and you can see more info over in the post shave section abs how these two came to be.  So I made a Pure Honeysuckle Skin Food Splash with sone extra Hyaluronic acid serum added to the splash. It’s what I call a Hybrid of 2 products and it’s going to be available in the Custom Collection in the drop down menu on the website so a customer can not only choose from the aromas but also to either add a higher percentage of the EOS Complex which I’ve been doing for a few of my customers but through emails. There will also be an option to add sone of the Hyaluronic acid serum to the Skin Food splash thus creating the Hybrid splash. Also i got sone 3.4 oz bottles in stock and you’ll be able to get a larger size Skin Food Splash as an option. 


Also made for another customer a custom EDP made from 100% pure Honeysuckle essential oil and before I explain the packaging I’d like to say that 100% Pure Honeysuckle is so hard to find. I got it from my source in Italy. The only Honeysuckle I’ve found in USA suppliers I’d either synthetic or a 10% diluted Honeysuckle essential oil blend where they mix it with a carrier oil. An id like to say neither of them comes remotely close to the real thing and I’m very excited to explore essential oil blend using this amazing Honeysuckle essential oil.  

So the EDP bottle you see in the photos below is a new addition. They are 15 ml glass bottles that I wanted to offer to my customers for making EDT’s and EDP’s in smaller amounts when doing custom aroma blends. Especially when using exotic, hard to find and expensive aroma ingredients. This way it won’t break the bank an as I’ve discussed with a friend of mine who’s a serious collector of fine fragrances an influencer over on the fragrance forums like Basenotes for example. So  I asked him, so  how many of the hundreds and hundreds of bottles of Colognes in your collection have more than 15 ml out of them? I said I’ll bet not many of sone of the $300, $500 plus bottles have that much missing so what if you could have just bought a 15 ml bottle. He said point well taken anf I added, also this enables people to explore expensive aroma ingredients at a somewhat reasonable price compared to a 2 oz or 3.4 oz bottle and he’s like yep it makes sense. So I thought I’d share this with you guys. What’s cool about these bottles is the sprayer options and I bought all of them so my customers can choose what they like and as you can see Scott choose a Copper sprayer. I’ve got it in Back, brushed and shinny silver, matte gold, copper and this great looking blue matte aluminum. I think there’s a pink option to but I didn’t get that as I’m not sure how many men would want that but as I’m writing this I’m thinking maybe a guy might want one made for his wife or girlfriend so yeah maybe I should stock the pink to. Lol 

Anyway here’s the two products. No labels yet but there on the way. 




So on to the next update and I’m very excited to announce this upcoming release in what I believe is the first pure Cannabis based Shaving soap. I won’t go into details yet but it has many Cannabis based ingredients in it including the full spectrum Mother’s Liquor that is my favorite isolate scent wise with it’s natural sweetness. I’ve made a decision based on sone talks with a few of my customers that this first release will have no added aroma ingredients in it so you get the natural natural aroma that comes from all the ingredients.  With that said I’ve also decided that I’ll release this at least 3 times a year and I’ll offer different aroma blends in it. So it will rotate. Once a year with its natural aroma and then the others with a different aroma blend. This will only be available in the new  F base for now. An I plan to have it up on the website in about 10 days to 2 weeks. I think Monica did a great job on the label.  So yeah im excited about this one. 



Last but not least I was playing today with my F Base and making my final tweaks to the formula and I was going to use one of either the standard aroma blends or one of the nee ones coming up but I decided to try something that’s been on my mind as a potential new scent. Not going into details yet but this is a very fresh green fruity but not real sweet Vetiver forward aroma blend and I’m really liking it so much and I can’t wait to do my morning work shave with it.I may have to get this out to a few of my testers as I believe I hit on a good one here. An I think it will be awesome in any post shave product. I just want to wear it. 

Thought I’d show you what the new F base looks like. Take no note of the jar and lid they are just so I don’t waste my good jars and lids Oh and BTW all the shave soaps starting with the Vanilla Safi which is my latest release are in my new 4 oz jars which are just a lower profile less capacity version of my larger 7.5 oz jars. So now all my 3 sizes come in the same high quality jars 




I’m getting feedback on the non alcohol Skin Food lotion and I’m making my final tweaks based on my testers feedback and then I’m going to release a few aromas in the product.

I have been extremely pleased with the trial F base I have been using. It has wonderful post shave softness without any of the greasy feeling

Frank I can’t believe you are doing even more custom work with EDPs and another soap line already. I’ve just started to use the Vanilla Safi which has improved on your excellent prior Ethos soaps. The Safi is a premium product within a top tier premium line which is very impressive. And you are already looking to bring out more WOW

Thanks Mark for being a tester for the F base and your always unbiased honest feedback and input. Even though we are friends you always tell it like it is and you know that’s much appreciated buddy!

Thank you AJ for the encouraging words. My objective is to make products to suit the needs of people with different skin types for one but also in the case of doing custom work I really enjoy making a product using Aroma ingredients that because of prices would not be commonly used in shave soaps or post shave products. An example would be I currently have 4 people on a list that want a 100% Pure Mysore Sandalwood Shave soap. It will be extremely expensive because of the current price of real Mysore which is currently $550 an oz! An I only know of two places that have the real Mysore that is the government controlled real deal. Lots of scammers out there so it must be sourced from very reputable suppliers.
Working on new or custom products really allows my creative juices flow and it’s very fulfilling to be able to take an idea and turn it into a real product and then see people enjoying it.
The premium M base was something I wanted to try and based on the feedback I’m getting I think I may just make it my normal M base moving forward. I think the differences are, the base is a bit slicker, because of the increased percentage of both the EOS Complex and Hyaluronic acid and sone new oils and butters the post shave seems kicked up a notch or two.

Is the new M base similar to the original base in texture and 'croap' consistency?

What are some of the scents forthcoming in the M base? Any of them not exotic regarding complexity and cost?

What price points are you anticipating for 7,5Oz jars in nonexotic scents?

Ok the biggest difference in texture is it firmer to a point where it can be lathered from the jar. There’s a slight increase in slickness due to a change in the addition of of another fat and some different oils. Post shave which I know is important to you is even a bit better due to the increase in percentage of both the EOS Complex and the Hyaluronic acid along with the above mentioned fats, butters and oils. Still no post shave oiliness.

As I’ve always stated the products are priced according to what’s in them. So if I’m using aromas like Succes, Melange Di Agrume or GreenFresh for example the prices will stay the same.. if I’m using more expensive Aroma ingredients such as in my upcoming 100% Organic Fougere aroma blend or the Mandarino Fumo there may be a slight increase over the current pricing Now if I’m using exotic very expensive aroma ingredients for custom orders like Rose Otto, Mysore, Tuberose, Frangipani or Agarwood as some examples then it would be on a individual basis on what the customer wants. I’m doing a Pure Homeysuckle essential oil shave soap for a customer right now at his request.

Dan I know you have Ulta sensitive skin and all I can do is reassure you is that if the current base is working for you I’m sure the new M base will be at least as good if not slightly better in all areas.
