Hi Primo

The Dragonsbeard scent is 100% natural so although it may have similarities to other scents I can assure you I wasn’t influenced by any existing cologne and the Aroma blend was built off the authentic Agarwood oil and Oud Resin I have in my possession and there’s a whole story behind that.

In fact honestly I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never even heard of Nag Champa!  What exactly is it?

Thanks my friend!
It's an incense, very popular from India. No matter. Whatever your ingredients are, they are excellent, Frank.

Nag Champa was the incense smell of virtually every counter culture room where drugs were being consumed, record store, head shop and mod clothing store in the late 60s to early 70s

Just to be clear, my incorrect reference to Nag Champa was not meant to insult. Indeed, I like the scent. And while Dan's explanation is not incorrect, the scent, imo, has gotten a bad rap.

My comments regarding Nag Champa weren’t meant as an insult. The late 60s/early 70s were the apex of the US.  All in all, it wasn’t such a negative reference to a better time

But back to the Nag Champa scent, Dragonsbeard is a very complex scent in a good way, not complex for the sake of complexity but rather, layered and sophisticated as though Creed or other perfumery had created it. Had not considered the Nag Champa subtlety until you raised it but appreciate the Asian characteristics you reference Primo

That was a great post, Dan. Now, just for shits and giggles, I purchased a package of Nag Champa incense, yesterday.

I will readily admit, that the scent of Dragonsbeard is not the same. Indeed I just enlisted the nose of the resident expert in my home, Dr. Mrs. Primo. She can detect a very slight and subtile similarity between the two. I believe it's the sandalwood that is used in Nag Champa. Frank's scent has Agarwood. Completely different, but still Asian in origin. Anyway, the conversations were amusing.
Today's shave was even better than yesterday's and the Dragonsbeard soap holds a very esteemed position in my shave den.

Always got to get the misses input and approval when it comes to scents.. glad your enjoying the Dragonsbeard and it does take a little longer to dial it in than my other soaps.

Probably the Camel Hump fat in it I’m guessing.

Thanks for your support Primo! Very much appreciated!

UPDATE:

Just a little note to all my current and future customers. I sometimes work 7 days a week at my jobs but as far as responding to emails I don’t answer business emails on the weekend as  I’m trying to keep those days free to not only working when I need to but also to take care of things my personal life demands and maybe a day of rest now and then as I’m sure many of you can appreciate. So please remember that when messaging me.  Especially about orders and tracking #’s.  I will get back to as soon as I’m back at work and in front of my work computer.

Also for my Euro and Asian country customers I live in NY so I’m on US EST so if I don’t answer an email right away at 2:30pm which is in the middle of the night please understand that I’m probably sleeping!  I will get back to you!

Great shaves all.

Just finished making this custom made EDP for one of my customers. This is a blend of many citrus essential oils such as Red and Green Mandarin, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Sweet Orange along with a couple of others and added some Mysore Sandalwood essential oil to give it a nice warm solid foundation.  Been working on this blend for over a week now and it’s ready. Got a little on my fingertip and was smelling it all the way home.  Now I think I have to make one for myself. Lol

UPDATE:

I’d like to announce that I’ve been listening to my customers and requests I’ve gotten since launching the ETHOS Grooming Essentials line and I’ve  made the decision to offer different size options for the shave soaps. Also to work with one or two suppliers. I will also note that my business Model was never set up to work with suppliers so my mark up on all my products would not allow not only myself but also the suppliers to enjoy the financial return they are normally used to do after much working numbers with two suppliers I have definitely worked out numbers that work for both parties and I’ve secured agreements with one and probably two US suppliers. One is the Razor Company as sone of you may have noticed. I only shipped him a few products to see how the response was and the products I did send him sold out very fast.  Also only certain products will be sold by the suppliers and all the others will only be sold through the ETHOS website which is very close to being put up.

So on to the 3 sizes of Shave soaps. Of course the 7.5 oz is my Standard size and comes in the super high quality Crystalline Plastic jar.

The 2 new sizes are the 4 oz low profile jar as seen in the photo and the new “ Travel size “ which is a 3/4 oz jar and is a smaller version of the 7.5 oz size jar and will give folks that would like to try a ETHOS shave soap without investing in the larger sizes or for travel. The 80 gram shave soap will only be available on my website and I’m planning on making them available right after Christmas as I have to get labels designed and made. The 4oz size will be the size that suppliers will be offering and it will also be available on my website as well.
All limited release products like the Dragonsbeard Collection as well as products that are custom made for customers will only be available on my website. So the addition of the 2 new sizes will offer some options for my customers.

I also want my customers to know who’ve been supporting my email ordering since launching that have mentioned to me that they like the personal communication that won’t change once the website is up. I can always be reached by email and also for a phone chat. So let me know what you think.

Thanks again for your support!

Frank
