UPDATE

I wanted to post this up as soon as I made my final decision and confirmed this with my vendor.  So as some may know I’ve been busy making a lot of Shave Soaps and a couple of Tallow Shave Cremes in the last few weeks. So I’ve been sitting on a lot of ready to go soaps etc. and what I was doing was waiting to finish all the releases before posting them on my website and sending them to my vendors. Well that’s going to change very soon.

I’ve been making a lot more 7.5 oz sizes than normal and initially it was i because of my low inventory of the 4.5 oz size jars after I found out that my manufacturers lead times had moved from 4 weeks to 6 to 8 weeks. So after much thought along with I have gotten more messages from my customers requesting more 7.5 oz sizes in their favorite scents or future scents I thought I have to make some changes.

So what I’ll be doing is this. If a scent has been offered previously and I’ll use Vetivert as an example. It’s a restock and not a brand new release. So I’ve already made the Vetivert as well as some other and the  jars are all labeled in both sizes and have been waiting to be shipped to my vendors. Of course the only ones that are going to the vendors is the 4.5 oz size jars as they always have. So no changes there.

What is changing is that I won’t be waiting the restocks  any longer and will get the 7.5 oz sizes up on my website. What I will do is honor my agreement with my vendors is I won’t put up the 4.5 oz sizes that I have until they have theirs.

Now if it’s a brand new release and I’ll use the Watermelon Mint as an Example then as normal we will all release the new scent at the same time.  The only time that will slightly alter is when I do pre -orders like we did with the Honeysuckle and Violeta.

So shortly I’ll be releasing all the 7.5 oz sizes in any of the soaps that I’ve made some 7.5 oz sizes in. As of today that includes these restocks, Nuage de Citron, Vetivert, ShaveMD, Bergamotto, Melange Di Agrume and the labels came in for the Unscented as well so that will be up also in yhe 7.4 oz size until the 4,5 oz jars arrive.

I talked to my website developer and we should have everything up between Friday and Monday.

Also because of the situation with the jars I’m going to put the Fresco on hold in the 4.5 oz size until I have the new batch of jars as I had to make a decision. It was either very small batches of the Bay Rum, Tortola and Fresco and the 2 Bay Rums won that contest. So I’ll be able to make medium sizes batches in both but once again I will have a good amount of the 7.5 oz sizes in all 3 of those. An that will complete all the scents I’m doing this season. The Beauté  Sauvage will only be available in the 7.5 oz size for now. That will follow the 2 Bay Rums and the Fresco. After that I will begin to work on the Fall and winter releases.  An that will include some restocks like Lost Souls, King of the North, Vanilla Safi and Dragonsbeard which will officially be released on October 1st as I’m trying to keep the tradition going on that one.
Of course there will be a bunch of brand new Aromas coming between now and next spring.  An I can promise you there are going to be some surprises in that group.

I’ll notify you when I know the exact day & time the 7.5 oz sizes will be going up.

If you have any questions please feel free to post or send me an email or text.

All the best!

Frank

So I had a regular order for some Lavender Supreme Shave Soap today but there was a custom Skin Food Splash on the order that said Ylang Ylang so I went about making it as it was a simple single note request. So I have a relatively new bottle of Ylang Ylang Organic Essential Oil as it’s going into a custom blend I have to do and all I have to say is not only did I really like the smell of the splash but my assistant and a friend who stopped by really liked it a lot and neither one of them had the slightest clue what Ylang Ylang smelled like. I actually made myself one I liked it so much.

I’m just curious. So how many are familiar with Ylang Ylang EO ?

IT’s described as a very sweet floral with a very uplifting aroma used not only to awaken the senses but also as anti anxiety and a relaxing massage oil.

To me there is something in it that gives me a somewhat soapy /powdery notes that’s way off in the distance and it smells familiar from a long time ago. It’s also used for meditational baths mixed with Clary Sage. It’s kinda like got the same effect on me as Honeysuckle even they are two different florals.
All I can say is I’m glad I got the request for the custom order as I really like it as a single note option. Oh and the one I got is the Organic one that’s from Madagascar which is supposed to be the top one of your a Ylang Ylang fan

A favorite note of mine. I really like Eufros Ylang Ylang and LeLabo's Ylang 49 is a great EDP. It is a creamy rich tropical floral accord. I find it between honeysuckle and magnolia. Make us some F Ylang Frank?

Oh and I’ll have to get a sample of the Le Labo Ylang 49 when I go see my son in NYC.

I too can vouch for Ylang 49 - it is a great composition by one of the most underrated perfumers, Frank Voelkl (who is responsible pretty much for all of the good LeLabo offerings to my nose, at least).  If you need a sample Frank, reach out to me offline as I own a bottle of the stuff and can hook you up.
