I have a couple of Bob's Manchurian White 2-band brushes, and they are truly wonderful. I have not used a Romera.

Sorted! The knot choice for the WW brush at least. I have put in an order with Bob for a 26mm Manchurian White. Same continent, quicker and cheaper shipping was an added benefit. Plus, Gustavo will receive an order for a separate knot.

Now for the choice of handle shape and resin...

Thanks for all the input, I'm most appreciative Smile

Romera, I have a 24mm fan, excellent knot, one of the best i have.... on the downside I ordered a Romera 26mm at the end of May, and have yet to receive it, seems it's lost in the mail, left Spain and no word since...why is the good stuff just so damn hard to get... sigh

Of the knots you mentioned, I have the Envy White and the Romera Manchurian. The Romera has softer tips and stronger backbone.

When did you get your first Romeras, Scott and Joe? Seems the general sentiment is that quality has gone down and that this year's(?) knots are not as good as earlier ones.

Wow, stronger backbone than the Envy White? That must be a pretty stiff brush. I love the EW, but I don't think I would want any more backbone than it has.

Yeah after reading that I'm now concerned after ordering a Romera Manchurian fan knot this week.

I wouldn't be worried about the Romera having too much backbone the Envy White isn't far behind at all. The left brush is the Romera Manchurian and the right is the Envy White and they are both 26mm. See how the Romera Manchurian has bloomed? It feels like a denser knot which is where the increase in backbone is from. But it is not even close to the backbone of a D01 2 band. I would say that its right between Shavemac's 2band and the D01 2band. Then the Envy White is just below that. Or maybe my Envy White is not typical of most of them? I hear that the the knot has really strong backbone but that isn't the case with the one I have. And I don't see it as a flaw in the knot at all, it's a great knot. And where the Envy White really shines is in its ability to pick up soap from triple milled pucks faster than the Romera Manchurian. Its a great brush to use on MWF or Dr Harris.
You can't go wrong with either IMO
