I received from an eBay seller a razor with obvious dings in the "brand new" Merkur head, and he did not respond to my complaint, so I filed a case with eBay. He still did not respond, so eBay decided in my favor and gave me a return address label to print, and I put the razor in the mail. I'm waiting now for it to get back to the seller so I can get my refund. But today I got this message from the seller:
"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have been very Ill. I have a life threatening illness. I don't have much time to live. I've been fighting one heck of a battle. I'm very sorry for not being able to reach you in time. Things like this happen. But I should have taken a much better view on the head to notice these dings. I hope that you will at least contact eBay to let them know that I would appreciate having my negative feedback removed. I would hate to have this destroy my reputation on eBay."
Hmmm. Maybe I'm just a mean old man, but I'm tempted to write back saying hey, if you don't have long to live, why worry about your eBay reputation...
