I'm just wondering what anyone has and uses in the way of an e-reader. I have both the Kindle Oasis and the Kobo Libra H2O and while I enjoy using them both I find that lately I have been leaning towards the Kobo. If a book is the same price at both Amazon and Kobo, I invariably download it on the Kobo, though I have many books on both. I enjoy the built in Libby app on the Kobo that makes it easy to borrow books from my county library system (my city library uses Cloud Library).
With the introduction of phone size and color to e-readers, I have been looking at both. The BOOX Palma 2 intrigues me because it is pocketable and runs on Android therefore permitting the downloading of both the Kobo and Kindle apps, the best of both worlds while traveling. However, some reviews seem to suggest that those apps don't run as smoothly on an e-ink device. Also, it runs on an outdated version of Android which has me thinking that the shelf life of this device isn't going to be great and at US$279.99 plus tax it doesn't sound like a promising investment. Does anyone have any familiarity with the BOOX Palma 2? If so, what are your thoughts?
As for color e-ink devices, I won't even consider the Kindle Colorsoft. I played with it briefly and was not impressed. Its biggest downside for me is no page turn buttons. Some don't care about them but I do. I've considered the BOOX Go7 color but, like the Palma, seems to come with the same issues. The Kobo Libra Colour would seem to be my best bet in the color e-ink world. Again, does anyone have experience with either of these color e-readers and if so, what are your thoughts about them?
So, what e-reader do you have and what are their pros and cons? Thanks for any input.
