The Enders Speed razor was developed around 1930. It was sold by the Enders Razor Company. One of main selling points they tried to get across was the fact that this was a “one piece razor”. You didn't have to (and couldn't) take the razor apart to change blades. The blade slid out and clicked in place.  Thanks to an adapter sold by Pete Hendrix some years ago these razors are now usable with the Schick B-20 Proline blade.  The colored metal labeled Speed Shaver handles made their appearance in the late 40’s or early 50’s. They are great shavers.  [Image: ZA3Njfe.jpeg]

I have 1 of Ian's adapters that he sent me and HC&C sold and they work great. Nice post about these gorgeous razors. I sold my red and yellow and kept the green. Wish I kept the yellow. Nice set !

Thanks, Dave! I really enjoy shaving with these razors. How’s the Shake Sharp love going?

Still loving it. Just the 1 nickel model as I got rid of the gold and the MK1 to simplify.

Let me add another "welcome back" to your collection Jeff.  It's good to see you on the mend and posting again.

That said, I am a big Speed Shaver fan, but I would not be a fan at all, had it not been for Ian.  I bought two of the adapters from HC&C - mild and regular - and neither worked.  Pete Hendrix put me in touch with Ian straightaway, and I could not be more pleased with Ian's knowledge and helpfulness.  According to Ian, Enders' quality control was not that great back in the day, and the blade insertion window on some of the razors is just a smidge too narrow to accept a modern injector blade (including B-20s).  With Pete's blessing, Ian sent me two modified adapters to replace the originals, and the modified adapters worked great.

I don't know how common my experience is, but hopefully this information will be helpful if some similarly unlucky Enders pilgrim wanders through this thread.
