UPDATE - FIRST LATHERS
Putting aside the sloppy workmanship (for now at least), I've had a chance to use each brush once. Based on one go, I'm very pleased with the Galaxy 26mm 2B ST and begrudgingly satisfied with the so called "Extra Density" 22mm ST.
The Galaxy has all the properties I expected - smooth tips and reasonably firm backbone. I bowl lathered the first time out, but I have no doubt this will be a fine face latherer. At the moment, I would tentatively rank it above my Yaqi 2B (which in not a ST) and clearly below my Shavemac 2B ST. Definitely well worth the price to me, even with the blemished handle bottom. There is plenty of lather left in the bowl in addition to what you see here:

The "Extra Density" is another matter. First, and much to my annoyance, there is absolutely nothing extra dense about this brush. It doesn't look extra dense, it doesn't have a lot of backbone, and it doesn't hog lather like a dense brush. Nevertheless, workmanship aside and based solely on performance, it too is worth the money to me because I could see myself enjoying it. The short handle makes it easy to choke up as needed on the knot, and that in turn makes it a suitable face latherer in my book. In fact, I had to add lather after the first pass, and found it quick and easy to skip the bowl and get a good quality lather sufficient for two more passes and touchups.
...
In short, I would definitely buy the Galaxy again, but I would think twice about the "Extra Density".
