Hello shavers!

I stumbled upon these new blades by  Dorco called "Prime Platinum" I think they were launched recently and have not seen them for sale many places yet other than ebay. http://eng.dorco.co.kr/promotion/active....age_list=1 They claim to have a double coating to protect from corrosion and a thinner sharper edge for less irritation. Has anyone heard anything on these or tried them yet? I actually enjoy the red 301 dorco blades and the blue 300s aren't bad at all for my skin. These Primes look fairly promising and I have high hopes that they are sharper and smoother.

Shave on!

I'll be interested to see some reviews.  Frankly, I wasn't crazy about the 301s and the 300s I found pretty terrible.  I'm always fascinated how what will work for one shaver won't for another, especially blades. Smile

I find for me, they work great for my mild daily shaves in my Phoenix double open comb or merkur 34c. Similar to personna reds but I know everyone is different and your millage may vary!

Funny that you compare them to the Personna Red Packs because while those blades have never been out of my rotation, I haven't used a Dorco blade in years.  Go figure. Rolleyes

I found that after I developed better technique I really liked the red 301s after revisiting them. Nice to have around and I use them when converting wet shavers as well haha

I don't use my Phoenix DOC to judge any blades. That thing is almost impossible to cut yourself with and needs pretty much zero technique to use. I'm reminded when I put it away and use a more aggressive razor lol. It really is a great razor to do pick ups with and finish though.

I agree, but can tell the difference with a feather compared to a dorco in the DOC. I think my 34c is the best middle of the road razor to use when judging a blade.

I tried one of the Dorco 301 & one of their Primer out of curiosity. They are serviceable blades, but there are far better for the money. The Koreans still have a lot to learn about coatings & sputtering it appears. I would not use either again.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I used a Dorco 300 blade and liked it.

Another fellow from Badger and Blade saw what I said about it. He used one. And he liked it also.

Those Dorco 300 blades seem fine to me. I get good mileage from my blades though.

The Dorco 300 and 301 blades worked well for me in some razors but not in others. Never heard of the Platinum Prime before, but it is on my to-try list now.
