How can someone 'CAPITALIZE'  on a price increase IF they are getting LESS money when they sell the item, than they paid when they originally bought the item ???

THAT is what I do when I sell an item that goes up in price as It presents an 'OPPORTUNITY' for someone to buy an item closer to the previous and usually (even) LOWER price for an item than it was before the increase in price ...

I’m not sure if you’re replying to my comment, since it wasn’t a direct reply… but yes, I did notice that you have a razor listed for an amount that’s higher than it was before. You’re not the only one, I’ve seen several of them recently. But to be direct, I do think it’s telling that your item was listed for less previously, and is now listed for more with additional verbiage addressing that Wolfman has increased their prices as justification for raising your ask. That’s why I would classify it as capitalizing; the fact that it might be less than what you paid isn’t relevant to me, it’s a used item and therefore shouldn’t be sold for more than new especially as an item that’s still being produced. If someone wants to pay your increased asking price that’s great, both of you are happy. But I’m not going to believe that it’s a coincidence that you’re relisting an item for more than you originally wanted right after they raise their retail prices…

Simply people asking more for their the g for sale based upon price of replacing NEW.  Capitalism is great in sellers market, but not so good for buyer.

Big Businessbuy for whole, sells for profit st retail, making money on sales.

Some of the arguments being put forth here are sour grapes and ridiculous. In the United States, we are free to charge whatever we please and if someone is willing to pay that amount that is the market price. That is the way things work here and it is the system we embrace as fair. The fact that prices may change up or down over time really has no bearing in the argument. Some used items do increase in value because of desirability and how scarce they are. There are tons of examples of this, classic cars for instance. Not everything goes down in value because it's used, just most things. It does not mean that someone has the right to superimpose their thoughts on what pricing should be. That is between a seller and a buyer and it is an efficient and effective way to transact. Now, we should stop talking about this least I change my mind and say "$5 bronze Wolfies for everybody!"

Personally I’m not making any “arguments.” I posted in a thread about increased Wolfman prices how it’s already impacting secondary market prices. Someone chose to reply and relate it to his specific listing. Like you, I wrote in my post above that if buyer and seller are both happy with the price and the sale gets made, that’s great. If my original comment happened to trigger someone to feel a certain way about their specific listing, that’s on them… I’m not a buyer of used or new Wolfie’s nowadays so I have no sour grapes to feel.

I don’t mind people asking what they want when they sell and item. Although, I also believe that they shouldn’t be offended when someone respectfully offers what they are willing to pay. Respectfully being a responsible price and worded nicely, or via PM.

I dislike when people try to acquire limited items with the intention of selling. It’s a shame when someone buys a hard to get item or gets a good deal passed along to them just to list the item a week later at 2-3x msrp or the purchased price.
