Hi all,

Peter of Wolf Whiskers has been kind enough to do an AMA with the forum on the 25th of April.  Peter will be available for most of the day to answer our questions.

The way it'll work is we'll create a new thread on the 25th where everyone can post questions for Peter, as long as they're in accordance with our forum rules. When Peter pops in throughout the day, he can answer them to the best of his ability.

Thanks,

This will be another great session- very much appreciate the artisans making themselves so accessible to the DFS community!

Another great AMA! Thanks Andrew!

I'm especially pleased that you are inviting an artisan with such a wonderful first name. Obviously he's a man of taste and high character.

The last AMA was very informative and in my view a huge success. I expect no less from this one.

This is excellent news!

The last AMA was successful, in my estimation, and I would expect that this one will be as well. I am thrilled be able to be part of a community where the vendors, merchants, and consumers can interact with each other on such a free level. Its so beneficial for all of us, and really helps to set DFS apart.

I have to ask, why an AMA? It's not like Gareth or Peter or the next person are celebrities or the president who are taking a few hours out of their schedule to live chat with people and answer questions. Can't they start a merchant thread here and answer questions as they come? Will from Barrister_N_Mann has answered dozens, maybe even hundreds of questions in his thread here. Gareth from Rockwell was already a registered member here and answered questions about his company and products before the AMA, so I just don't see the point.

I asked myself this same question Aaron, but my experience with the previous AMA altered my perception of the format. On a merchant thread, discussions could take any direction, alternating between unrelated banter (which is fun), praise, criticism, questions, and monologues. An AMA is a bit more focused on answering questions and getting to know a brand, as it allows users to ask questions about the company, about the artisan, and about anything else for that matter.

I like merchant threads too, and they certainly have their uses in allowing easy access to the artisan, but an AMA is a way to get answers to burning questions and for individuals unfamiliar with the brand to discover new products/companies in greater depth. Quite honestly, Gareth and his work was mostly off my radar before the AMA, but I felt like I learned a lot with such a focused discussion on one particular brand.

Basically, it's just a different discussion format and can exist alongside a merchant thread.
