It took a bit longer than I thought to mail the materials to MilkCrate, but they are out the door, and I was able to add a sample of KuSaFiRi to the existing samples of Hot Laguna Nights and Masters of the Green.  The KuSaFiRi sample is sized to comfortably last as long as the other titles, and I will comment on it after my first one or two shaves.  Meanwhile, the post office is showing Monday delivery.  Good luck with all of them MilkCrate!

First, a quick thank you to everyone for making the pass around happen. And a special thank you to HighSpeed for bringing the pass around to my attention.

Today I took a test drive of my first sample, Masters of the Green. This is a light, fresh scent but not in my wheelhouse. I did try it to see how the scent opened up when lathered. A light, pleasant scent, but I would not purchase based on scent. As the others, I found it easy to lather. It does build a nice dense lather that is slick. I forgot that the boar I was using today holds a bunch of water, but it was not a problem with this soap. Between my three passes, the residual slickness was nice and still present while rinsing. I didn’t chase this with any aftershave, and the post shave feel was nice as well. I am curious what other scents the vendor has. I may follow up on that, once I finish a few others.

Kit used today:

Scuttle: GP Scuttle
Razor: Shumate’s Barber
Brush: knothead Boar
Soap: Masters of the Green
AS: none

Shave Count (DE: 626 SE: 9 SR: 1009)

Pre Shave-
Strop: none
Scuttle: GP Scuttle
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Manslu Razor
Blade: none
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts
Soap: DentonMajik Hot Laguna Nights

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: none

Yesterday I shaved with the KuSaFiRi sample and today was Hot Laguna Nights. As I mentioned in my last post, the soap has a very nice base, that performs well. The scents are blended well too. It could easy find a way into a soap rotation. But for me, none of the scents would knock anything out of my current rotation.

I also had the new Manslu razor on deck. The razor itself is wider and heavier than some of my other razors. Not a problem at all, it was easy to find the groove. This edge is legit. It came from a BST and the seller finishes his razor on a blue jean strop with black paste on it. The razor has a sharp, smooth edge and it almost wanted to stick to me a couple of times. Went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Very nice shave indeed.

There is still enough samples to keep this going. If anyone wants to give them a try, just shoot me a DM.

I am late to the party, as is my style (fashionably late, by weeks!). I am very intrigued to see an unscented version in the Game Changer Base and I am just barely restraining hitting the Buy It Now button!!
