Shave felt a little off, but I was lazy, so prep was almost nonexistent, and I didn't soak the brush, just wet the bristles, shook out excess water, and started loading on the puck. In the end, I am really comfortably shaved and refreshed, just feeling not quite there. I did decamp to the first floor 3/4 bath, and so maybe just the combo of different locale and not my normal preparedness!
Very nice you could off send that timeless Ti handle I could of get it polished, it’s finished so nicely as Ti material from Medina Brothers..

I will use same handle with Scaloped SS Top cap and Slim SS Baseplate with Ti handle perfect Balance and touch looks neat  Happy2

Today I used the butterscotch SoC, which I believe hasn't had much of a break in or use. I was quickly reminded by the shape the knot was in. It worked well, but it definitely felt unbroken-in.

Unfortunately, I rushed the lathering. While I got a ton loaded, I didn't properly hydrate it and my face took a beating on the first pass. I remedied it for pass 2 and by time I finished, it was an awesome shave.

The tool of choice today was the Winning razor. When I first bought it, somewhere I read that it is a fairly ordinary razor until you get to the ATG pass... That is where it shines. I can see that, for sure. It shaves so smoothly and close against the grain. It is quite possibly my best razor for that pass.

One more Boar day to go for me (12/31). Friday, the Fluffy Hexagon comes back as a Boar. Should be a great shave!

Have a good evening folks!

DecemBoar Shave #24

Planned on an extra day of growth for a new (to me) Feather razor, but I just couldn't wait until morning. Largely successful first straight blade shave with nicks around the chin.

Very nice! I recently received a straight from Ken Fluffy and plan to try shaving soon. I am a little hesitant, almost like before my first DE shave! Glad to hear that you had a good start!

The feather light touch is the key to success. And a thin wet lather. Even knowing that, my lather was too thick and the blade would tug on the skin. I misted my face often with water from a spray bottle. Would have been an uncomfortable bloody mess otherwise. The straight requires a focused training time. I think I will wait until Feb to give it the attention it deserves. Jan will be injector month.

Razor: Feather AC DX
Blade: Feather AC Professional
Brush: Omega 49
Soap: Williams & Col. Conk Lime grated together

I tried to increase slickness today with the Col. Williams combo for my second AC shave. More nicks than yesterday and significantly more irritation on the neck. This will take some work. At least the brush is unbelievably soft. I would never have guessed it could soften up this much.
