This SOC in the cherry handle is probably my favorite boar. It was the first and then I went hog-wild. Now for the paring down!

Razor: Yates 921 (M for my remarkably handsome face, H for the solar panel)
Blade: Personna Platinum
Brush: Omega 49
Soap: Barrister & Mann O, Delight!
A/S: Stirling Soap Co. Sandpiper

It is ALWAYS a great shave when I use the Yates 921. It's like Jake Yates custom made a razor just for me.

Best post today! That made me snort my coffee, which thankfully had cooled down!  Mad

Even more amazing, I acquired this custom-made-for-me razor here on BST. Len was kind enough to hold on to it for me until I was ready

If I was keeping a complete ranking of my boars, this one might not crack the top 10. The loft is too short for my preference.

Mystic Water Soap Sensitive Skin

Some notes: This morning it gave me an interesting feeling to be shaving with a razor that is over 100 years old, like I am somehow connected to that time. (Maybe it was that we just watched some classic B&W Christmas movies!)

And good ol' fumble fingers dropped the loaded brush into the basin of water! But I didn't scream in terror or anger, I just calmly took the dripping brush with its over-hydrated bristles and soap, shook just firmly enough (no use being frustrated with the brush!) and started loading again. And what a nice lather was achieved! It may have had a bit too much water, but it was almost as good as new! This also brought me back in time, but not so far, only 6 years, to when I just started shaving traditionally. Mystic Water was my nemesis! Amazing the difference time and experience give one.
Thanks for reading!

First time using CBL soap. Received this in a PIF in February, and just now getting around to trying it. It is a very good basic soap with very good slickness.

Even though the name isnt quite fitting, I chose to use Stirling Christmas Eve for the Eve's Eve. Did that confuse anyone else? Lol.

Since I'm stubborn, I decided to try the 26mm Shoat Knot again. The handle was a birthday gift from my wife. Even though it's a little large in size, it has the most amazing color. I really want to have a knot in it that I love. The knot is nice, but it's not a giver when it comes to lather. I've been breaking it in some more, and I've hoping it'll start to behave.

After seeing some deals, I decided to give the Astra SP another go. I haven't had great luck with it over the years... Mostly irritation.

Luckily for me, today's shave was pretty good. The brush gave me 4+ passes worth. The blade was smooth, and Stirling did it's usual magic. In the end it was a nice, DFS+ and I am happy. Not sure Astra is ready for daily use, but it wasn't the let down I expected.

Be well and stay safe, DFS![Image: 2b0927a830868958bd733c707eabaa4b.jpg]
