Not to de-rail the thread… but;

Sous Vide prepared Steaks are delicious… not long ago I did a side-by-side steak test with 6 members of my family.

All 6 of us agreed the Sous Vide cooked steak was noticeably better than the charcoal grilled steaks (which were also quite good).

I had a brainstorm a few minutes ago while pondering the matter of removing a knot from and existing brush a AYPWIP moment!!  I think so Brain....  the thought was maybe I could vacuum seal the subject brush and soak it in my sous vide cooker for however long it takes.  I would have precise control over the temperature and the exposure time and the brush itself would never get wet.  Of course this will only work if temperature is the only factor in softening the adhesive and the solvent effect of the water/steam is unnecessary.  I shall experiment so stay tuned.  Any thoughts or suggestions on temperature and exposure time are appreciated.

And you could make your dinner at the same time! Big Grin

I agree. I’ll post my recent SV steak adventure in the kitchen area

Today I chose to venture into the scary zone and use the Oumo 24. Unlike my other brushes, this one really hasn't broken in... Even after 20 plus lathers. It's better, don't get me wrong, but not by much.

I posted a much larger report in my journal. To sum it up here: suffice to say with three passes of something that's prickly, it's safe to assume I got a bit of irritation. Worse yet, it is very reminiscent of what kept me from boars to begin with. I look forward to using something softer and more luxurious Sunday (maybe the 26mm Shoat?). This guy maybe on his way out of the den. We'll have to see.

Can't win them all, lol. Happy Friday DFS![Image: 16b68487779d61a8a119a07b1a986e4a.jpg]

Just ordered 2 Oumo 24X79 knots. Presently only have 2 boar brushes. One will be for me. One for my Son in Law. Making him a Copper Edition Boar  brush.
When you guys order from Ali Express approximately how long did it take to get your order?

My orders (all 2!) took 2-3 weeks.

Nice plan for the son in law!

I ordered a brush from AliExpress on 27 Aug. It arrived on 16 Oct.

Edit: To clarify, ordered from Yaqi Factory Store via AliExpress.

They have multiple companies that sell thru them so it depends Ken. Oumo usually is pretty fast considering the distance.

Here's a couple good options:

I had, of course, go and look at the Ali store. Thanks for that. Now I'm thinking. And I may need handles. Like I said, thanks.  Tongue
