Since it'll need time to dry, I knew I'd need to use the smaller Omega. Fwiw, I think I was calling it 23, as some sites referred to it as such. It's labeled 24mm by Omega and measures 23.4mm. So, I'd say Omega is right.  I guess i'll stop calling it the '23mm Omega'. Lol.

Anyway, as I am prone to fidgeting with things, I immediately pulled the knot from the Omega 24 and transplanted it into a different handle. Again, I am very  appreciative to have this brush, however I  had a better handle in mind and knew it would work out.

I was able to remove it with a little effort (more than the 28mm took) and transplanted the knot to the vintage handle refurbished by Freddie. Ive attached a picture here. IMO, it looks 'classically stunning'. However, looks mean nothing in regard to performance. So how did it work on this evenings shave? Simply Amazing!

I was chatting with Eric about 24mm knots, and the need to reload soap. This one did take two reloads on its last (maiden) voyage. I'm happy to say, with proper soaking and loading, it only needed one reload. For me and a Boar knot, that is absolutely acceptable. I may have even had to reload the 28 on its last use. I can't recall for sure.

Additionally, the knot opened up better in the new handle and really did a wonderful job. It was comfortable without any noticable poking/stabbing. In fact, I might have a tough time going back to the 28 if this one keeps giving such a performance.  We'll have to see. Regardless, I now have two great Boar brushes to last me though DecemBoar and beyond. I'm quite happy.

Have a nice evening folks.[Image: 004edbb308662f1d293fea09e49be0d4.jpg]

I asked in the other place, and will ask here as well. What the heck is that?! A boar scuttle? An ash tray?! A man's catch all?! And I wonder if my wife would like me to display one?!!  Tongue

If your wife has good taste, she will take the bait if you drop enough hints. I think it was advertised as a "keyholder," but it would make a handsome salsa bowl appropriate for fine entertaining, an ashtray for fine cigars, M&M dispenser, . . .

To be honest, I am such a DecemBOAR nerd, I downloaded a bunch of pictures a while ago I cannot remember the source. Thanks for hosting the DFS DecemBOAR thread.

I've been thoroughly enjoying your boar pics as they come out in your SOTD photos Happy2

GEM Clog Pruf Peerless
Personna GEM PTFE (1)
Stirling Sheep
SOC Taj boar

A great shave with a 1940s razor. So audible and so smooth. The Peerless was gold-colored, I think. Mine is looking more brassy now. And the Peerless had 17 nibs (teeth) in the comb versus 13 in the silver-colored Clog Pruf. This razor gives me a smooth, close, and comfortable shave, which makes it a star in my book!
