Repeat set up, started with a little more water left in the knot before loading. The lather was more creamy, but I still had to reload between passes. Still, a great shave!

The pictures above are of my well broken in Semogue 1305 in dry state and then with lather then paired with a brand new never been wet 1305 so you can see how much the knot blooms once its broken in.  The brand new 1305 is a bit underwhelming, however, with time and patience its become a really nice brush.  The price is right too. 

I just notice that the older 1305 has an Excelsior sticker on the handle while the newer one has a Hereditas sticker. Not sure what that means??

Plenty of lathers!!  It’s probably 10 years old and in the early days I was lathering in either a Dirty Bird or Sarah Bonnyman scuttle and both of those scuttles had fairly aggressive ridges in the bowl which I think helped with the break in and split end development. I mentioned those scuttles in other threads. The down side if aggressive ridges is it can be hard on those pricey badger knots.
