That's exactly what I do, Bob. If one is going to use a cartridge razor, the Guard is the way to go. It shaves as well as, or better, than the 5-blade wonders and is very inexpensive. This is exactly why Gillette doesn't openly sell it in the North American market. In fact, one of our vendors here at DFS was threatened with a lawsuit unless he stopped selling the Guard and was told, point blank, that it wasn't meant for the American market. Why? Obviously because P&G/Gillette is milking us and doesn't want its cash cow to disappear.
I was able to get mine through an Indian vendor on eBay. I had to wait about 2-3 weeks to get it but it was worth it. I got two razors and 16 cartridges for $11.00, with free shipping. As Bob states, it looks and feels more like a disposable razor but shaves so much better and there is no problem with the TSA when packed in a carry-on bag.
