Sorry to hear the audio didn't work out with the other camera. I looked at the reviews for the presumed only compatible mic for that camera. It seems the camera's gain circuit is pretty weak to begin with, compounded by the lavalier/lapel mic dynamics. Essentially pushing in an unamplifed signal into an already poor performing gain circuit isn't going to improve much. I suspect you would literally have to have that right next to your mouth to get any major difference over the internal mic.

Depending on what you decide to do next, I would still be cautious about going with a lapel style mic if you don't want to have it clipped close to your mouth. Even 12 inches away can result in a meaningful drop in level for many of those mics, as they are purposely designed with a narrow band to reject nearby sounds. I think a camera with a decent internal mic should be fine if you are only 12 inches away. There are also affordable wireless lavalier mics but I have not tried any.

Separately, I am going to be wrapping up my shaves with the on loan GEM razors. I mentioned in my SOTD I have been behind on posting but continuing to shave with the razors. Planning to do a shovelhead and MMOC side by side as they each offer a unique shave experience and benefits.

Thanks for your thoughts on the mic. No hurry on the razors.

that looks like a fantastic shave! and everything seems color matched perfectly, a true art form!

First time I seen honeysuckle for soap and AS, I would watch out for bees if its the same honeysuckle taste and sweet smelling floral flavor I remember.

You know if Frank Dragonsbeard did it, It's the genuine scent and you feel like your sitting on a Honeysuckle bush ! Big Grin I'll be doing my next video with it and discuss the scent in more detail by the weekend perhaps.
